And did he not have it coming? I've had it all along that he's a Heat apologist looking to rile up Cavs fans and other midwestern folks...

Just when I thought you couldn't more clues & ignorant you've proved me wrong. Never once have I been a Heat apologist.

Doubtful.

@Wamu is a funny guy. Most of his posts on here are jokes. I have never once seen him get into it with anybody. Not once. So, no, he didn't deserve that.

That hurricane fella gots a screw loose.

tyler johnson is going to jump to 19M a year - thats atrocious

Worse than TT's contract? TT is what he is. Johnson still has time to get better.

And Johnson's already a good player. Not all-star level, and he's not a bargain at the $19 mil that he's going to get paid. But he's productive.

DJ,

why do you think that neither ESPN or SI had Tyler Johnson in their top 100 players?

why do you think ESPN and SI both had TT in their top 100 players at 72 and 52 respectively?

not only that- but its also a strategy issue.

The Heat dont have a core that can do anything. They would have to move multiple players to accomplish that.

If you have Gordon Hayward and Anthony Davis and Goran Dragic------ DEFINITELY- go sign up guys to long term contracts to keep a core together for a while. Sign whoever like some unproven 2nd rounder like Richardson to a long term contract- knock yourself out--- you already have your core- with 3 guys signed up of that magnitude you arent going to have any cap space anyway.

But to have almost 20% of your cap space locked into Tyler Johnson for 2 years in a row in a team that is realistically not going anywhere?

Just another example of Riley throwing 78 mph meatballs.

DJ,

why do you think that neither ESPN or SI had Tyler Johnson in their top 100 players?

ESPN also had Ball ahead of Melo

Danny Green ahead of Melo

Etc.

You yourself were bitching about those rankings and are now defending them?

It's true what they say.

TT, 8.1ppg and 9.2rpg
Johnson, 13.7ppg, 4rpg, and 3.2apg

This comparison tells literally nothing. TT is a defensive specialist. His impact can't be measured with simple stats. He gets plenty of shade on here, and some is deserved, but Tyler Johnson is not a better player than TT and there is literally no fair way to compare because they are polar opposites in terms of skill sets.

And what did I say? I said Johnson still has time to get better.

TT is what he is.

TT is only one year older than Tyler Johnson.

Yeah I never been a fan of comparing guards to PF/C. Just a waste of time. Tyler is good at what he does. Being a damn good 6th man

lol...sometimes DJ i think youve lost your mind

you can say what you want about those rankings--- there are some good things in them and some bad things in them

obviously Lonzo Ball where he is is a joke. Gallo as a top 45 player? gmafb

but its not like they have Steph Curry at #28.

you can be off--- but you cant be dozens and dozens of spots off

no one looked at either of those list and was like- FUCK- why did Tyler Johnson get snubbed.

I dont see one post of anyone saying TT was overated.

so sell crazy elsewhere. We are all stocked up here.

Yeah......sucks that teams are stuck with players that are under contract and can't trade them.

Yep. The NBA no longer allow players under contract to get traded. You didn't hear?

Must have deleted the email along with the TPS reports. My bad.

It is just hilarious. Yea Tyler contract will be hard to move. Don't think the Heat would want to trade Whiteside. JJ contract due to his age will likely be hard to move also. As for the other guys? As long as those guys are producing, moving a contract like Waiters, Ellington, J-Rich, or Kelly would be kinda easy. Obviously if those guys are not playing well then it becomes difficult to move those contracts

Should've asked if anyone wants TT. That would've nullified him from this thread.

Agreed. He is a high quality role player. So is TT. They just have very different roles.

Tyler's job is to score and create instant offense off the bench, TT's job is to rebound and defend. Neither player is a bargain, but neither is a horrid contract either.
