I'm in a H2H keeper league. I have to drop one of these guys by midnight tonight. What are your thoughts?

How deep is this league? Stats wise, it's probably between Gomez and Perez, but Perez is at a thinner position. I'd probably drop Gomez.

The league is balls deep.

14 teams, 30-man MLB rosters, 10-man MiLB rosters.

I think the obvious keeper of these three is Frazier. More dingers and RBIs than the other two. I think you'll be more likely to replace Gomez's production in outfield than Perez's at catcher. I'd have health concerns with Gomez as well.

Health concerns with a 150 game catcher too. He wears down every second half because he catches so much
This isn't close for me. Drop the catcher.

I sort of agree with you both.

Another option would be to keep Perez with the intention of trading him off high before the ASB.

Any Royals fans in your league? They were like unicorns a few years ago, but they're popping up all over now.

I don't know your league obviously, but that sounds like a tough sell. Gomez can easily go 25-25 with health. Frazier can be 30-15. Perez just wouldn't be on my radar before them. If all keepers are same draft value then there is no way I'm keeping a catcher.

:agree:
Drop Perez- you can find a catcher that will replace at least some of his stats.

You guys are feeling pretty confident with Gomez's health, huh?

I'm not. I also think it's easier to find a replacement outfielder than a decent catcher. It's not like we're talking about Harper or Trout here. Gomez doesn't put up monster numbers even when healthy. He's basically had two good seasons. What's the scoring in this league?

Same as the DLFL.

I tend to agree with you. There's a shitton more OFs with Gomez's healthy numbers than there are Cs with Perez numbers. Plus, I'm not exceedingly confident with Gomez' health.

Your choice. Talent wise, this isn't even close. And speaking of injury, Perez has caught a shit ton of games through October for two years straight. Wilson Ramos has just as much upside (40-50 runs, 15-20 HR, 60-70 RBI).

Yeah, there's lots of OF, but everyone also starts a lot.

Your team, your choice. But you are going way against the odds by keeping a catcher.

How many do you keep in total? Are your keepers essentially your first picks? How many OF do you start? (are you keeping other OF?)

These answers could sway me... because I'm not blind to the injury history of Gomez.

We keep 10 players. I wouldn't be going "way against the odds by keeping a catcher."

Hate to say it, but I'd drop Sal.

Don't see his offensive prime lasting all too long with the high volume of games he plays.

But I wouldn't tell you to worry if you choose CG.

Frazier should transition nicely to the AL, imo.

Yeah, Fraizer is pretty much a lock. I'm not overjoyed with either Perez or Gomez, but it's my tenth spot, so I'm not too disappointed.

IDK, with 10 keepers, i like having a catcher as a keeper...Yes, Perez has caught too many innings in the past couple seasons... But until he shows this as a negative, then we can just assume that he will continue, at least for next season... Compilers in fantasy are a huge advantage... I like gomez a lot, and love that he is playing for a good offense in a good ballpark... But he is not an OBP or a BA guy...

I would keep Perez over gomez...
