If a batter puts the ball in play, while part of their body touches the ground outside the box, they’re out.

If the catcher makes contact with a batter during his swing, it’s catcher interference. Batter gets first base.

MLB not doing anything to Ozuna or anyone else with a long follow through should be a clear message to catchers. Back up.

Why do you need that big of a follow through?

Flexing afterwards aside, this is the ideal swing. Compact. Drop the bat:

Never comes close to the catcher.

So reading this. I assume you are taking the Batters side then?

That's what I assumed too and he's wrong.
My question is a true question out of curiosity. I am not a big Baseball fan so I dont know the ends & outs of these rules.
So curious from those of you in the know what you think.
All I know is I am seeing a lot of people get hit in the head & think. Some point something has to be done. Right?

its more complicated than that though... if baseball ever does use robot umps there won't be a problem... but the reason catchers are moving up is so they can catch the ball in the strike zone, so the umps can see the strikes...

its pretty new though... so baseball needs to decide what they would rather have... but IMO the fact that baseball stopped using the shift, showed that they care more about not messing with batters mechanics... so if mechanics is what they care for they will choose the batters side on this, and tell the catchers to move back...

as for me, I am on the catchers side...
