Huh? They were absolutely a contending team every season when they had the GOAT QB. Unfortunately for the Patriots they are not in a good spot at QB this season. They might be in the years ahead with Mac, we will see, but I don't see them contending with Mac Jones as a rookie.

I wonder what was different about last year? Oh yeah, Brady left to win a championship elsewhere and last I checked the Patriots didn't re-aquore Brady, they re-signed a washed Cam.
