I'm officially old... looking at that 8pm start time (and looking at the 3-week-old kid in my wife's arms) and it makes me sleepy. Oh how the times have changed.

Replace the bourbon with Red Bull and Vodka. That should help

VT will need some things to go their way to win this game.

VT is a very solid team this year. But they're untested. William and Mary was a feel-good experience, and was exactly what the team needed to build some confidence. But VT would have been better off if this game were later in the season.

Then again, Ohio State is working out some things as well. VT has a shot. If they go in with confidence, and stay disciplined, I like their chances. Particularly if VT doesn't stink up the place with a mental mistake/miscue in the first 10 minutes. I'm looking at you, special teams.

We said it before, big time recruits come when we win the big games. If we want the star power to be attracted to VT so we can take that next step and attract/develop top tier athletes - we need to win the big games like this.

ST will be key as Scores mentioned. We need good kick off return and punt coverage and our OL needs to step it up and block like a team we were used to seeing in the early to mid 2000s. If we can get these two things to happen, this game is winnable.

I am all for developing Stroman as a future punt returner, but I am not sure throwing him out there against Ohio State for his first game is a wise decision. Remember Ryan Williams against Bama? Stroman should have been getting all the reps last week.

yeah, it is odd that they would make that change this week... Anxious to see what he brings to the table there, but I'd have rather seen it last week or next week.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to put Stroman out there in a big game after you passed on the opportunity to get great reps in the W&M game to see if he can do it in a live game. Seems like an unnecessary risk.

Different situation. Williams didn't have the experience or confidence that Stroman has on special teams. If i remember correctly, Williams stated after that game that he never felt comfortable on special teams and never really wanted to be back there in the first place.
