There's still a handful of games left but that shouldn't matter at this point. Who is your MVP?

Westbrook is having the best year of any player in the modern NBA. I'm going back to the 1970s.
There is no contest.

:gaah::gaah: As a rule every opinion counts, but this is the exception. Westbrook's 2016/2017 season would be the MVP season of every year I've watched The NBA...PERIOD.

There's definitely a contest and probably the closest one history. Even if it shouldn't as close as it will be.

There isn't a contest, Westbrook will win by a huge and bigly margin.

I can see a scenario in which Westbrook wins but it wil not be by a huge margin. Harden is basically matching Westbrook 75% with a better record. Not to mention Westbrook's teammates are all on on his triple double feat every game. Russell is like 6'3 leading the team in boards? Okay. Russel is a great player but OKC won't even make the conference finals IMO.

I'd bet the farm ( somebody loan me a farm) this will be a runaway. Voters will give lip service to other outstanding seasons, but when it comes time to vote only one player is having an honest to Bird season for the ages.

I have to take this time to recognize that 3 of the 5 top MVP votes will most likely go to PAC 12 players. PAC 12 gets hate all the time for being "weak" but we're producing legit pros.

Win or lose the MVP Westbrook's season will be remembered as the greatest single season of any player in NBA history. Big O is the last player to average a triple double and no one mentions he didn't win the MVP or finish with a winning record.

I have been thinking Harden bc of his teams' record but he has a lot more around him than RW does. Harden is the favorite IMO but I think Westbrook should get it

Kawhi Leonard. He does everything on both sides of the ball. Doesn't cherry pick / inflate his stats to the detriment of the team. Keeps his mouth shut. He's not a fake tough guy; nor a flopper. Isn't too lazy to play defense every night. He is the LeBron and Durant kryptonite.

Hands down. No question about it. He really should've been MVP last year too.

Not when his FG% is worse than every team in the league....his scoring is vastly overrated this year because of the amount of shots he takes.

No doubt he is a beast defensively on James, but I wouldn't say kryptonite LOL. Lebron averages 24.4, 6 and 7 and shoots 38% from 3 when Kawhi guards him.
KD averages almost 26, 9 and 4 against him, he doesn't shoot the 3 ball good. Kawhi is great defender but sorry definitely not a kryptonite.

As far as MVP goes I think Kawhi is underrated just doesn't have the stats as the other guys. He just doesn't have the numbers that RW or Harden have. Lebron is actually having a better offensive year than Kawhi too.

Nah that doesn't matter. No one realizes this but MJ had a couple seasons where his FG% was in the mid-40's and he took 24-25 shots a game. The fact is when you shoot that many times your FG% will not be too high. That being said, his % is pretty low but he does so much for the team that he is helping the team way more than hurting the team no doubt. He averages almost 11 rebounds and 11 assists. 11 rebounds for a guard is pretty amazing.
