Should the Lakers trade LeBron James?

Of the 2, I'd probably take TT over Love. I like TT's defense, rebounding and the fact that he can a few points without any plays called for him. Plus, he knows how to play with Lebron.

I've always liked Love and he also knows how to play with Lebron.
No doubt that the Lakers could have used his 3 point shooting, but he's just hurt too much for me.
Injuries could be a concern, I'm sure, but when he is needed he usually plays. I'm sure many of these injuries have been extended because they didn't need him. Other than the freak accident with Olynyk.

...any other player in consideration for a third option behind Lebron and another max type wing.

...and WAY too expensive.

Right now, given his injury history, I agree.

But I don't think a healthy Kevin Love would be way too expensive. He may still not be quite worth what he makes, but it would be a lot closer than it is right now.

The biggest problem is the extension. He's set to make an average of $30 million through 2023. That's the part that's way too expensive, imo.

Another year like this one and I agree. But I believe he'd have played more this year if he was needed. 65-70 games/season 4 years prior.

Also not the type of game that should slip so much from age 30 to 33.

But, yeah, injuries a concern.

I'm not quite the Kevin Love fanboy you are, but I have always liked him and wanted him on the Lakers for years. In fact, there were rumors of him to the Lakers right about the time Lebron returned to Cleveland and fucked it all up by wanting him on the Cavs. lol

I agree, his game doesn't require a lot of athleticism, so it should age better than a more athletic player. But $30 million still seems like a lot for a guy with his injury history. Even though he would solve at least a couple of the Lakers current issues.

Jeanie Buss considered trading LeBron when the Anthony Davis saga erupted. She was convinced that Rich Paul started the fiasco and caused New Orleans the problems that occurred and didn't like it. It took a call from Rich Paul to clear the air and set it straight and stop the trade.

Trade him to the NHL. We'd like to check him into the boards a few times!

If 5-10 Tomas Tatar tried to check LeBron into the boards he'd bounce off him like a fly hitting a windshield.

Yeah, his current salary. What else would you judge him by?

Guys in the league as long as he's been with his skill level will be paid around what he's being paid. Looking at next year's top paid players looks like there are some ahead of him who should be where he is or less. Some behind who should be where he is or higher.

Not necessarily does he get that outside of Cleveland, where everything about him is overestimated apparently.

Perhaps not as the Cavs could go over the cap to sign him. But if you look at the list what I said is true......there are guys ahead of him who should not make more than him and guys behind who should.
