2.5 back with 6 weeks to go is no time to compromise. I'd like to keep a little of Mesoracos tempo pumping through this team for a while. The Reds are on a roll. Runaway trains all start that way. The need to apply some coal and start building steam. Doesn't matter much if you thump last place teams, but throw in a theoretical contender like the D Backs, and people start believing, pushing the issue. It's how momentum rides adrenalin into a bomb. Now is the time.

Whoever finishes 3rd starts the playoffs on the road and stays on the road to start all series.
AL has home field for the WS.
2nd is better than 3rd. 1st is better than 2nd alleging all 3 come from the NL-C.

Tough one to swallow and you really can't pin that loss on our two favorite culprits: Dusty and the offense.

Damn! That was tough to swallow, definitely hurt. But Latos is going tomorrow and he will get us back on the winning side and start another streak. Gotta let that one go.

Whatever Chapman and Mesoraco were thinking ... dunno. Lucroy had leveled off on the FB three times and throwing it again, it was pretty clear that 99 mph wasn't going to get him out. If AC was hoping for another blowaway, it was obvious Lucroy wasn't buying it.

So what does he do?

Yeah ... not much thinking went on there.

Oh I don't know...Throw another pitch maybe?

Wait, scratch that. He can't.

That's why he fucking sucks.

Put this guy in the rotation?:laugh3:

He's a an arrogant, lazy piece of shit that has done absolutely nothing to improve his game in the 4 years he's been here. He needs to go to winter ball and learn how to fucking pitch. I'm sick and tired of watching this asshole blow games. He has +3 ERA, and for a closer? Unacceptable.

I just finished watching that shit this morning! :L

It was awful.

How many walk-off HR's to scrubs is this guy gonna give up?

We're back to 2011, where you have no idea what you're gonna get from this guy.

Fuck him. I have more confidence in Parra right now than this asshole.

Well, as games go ... we got offense from the guys we always bash ... so can't bitch there. Votto, yeah 0-for-3, but that wasn't a dealbreaker either.

Leake didn't bring his game, again. Simon was just lucky.

Hoover is my choice for a closer lately. I'd go with Chapman as a LOOGY. Sure, that's a waste of a power arm but those walkoffs like that are murder.

The offense came to life just in time to watch the pitching barf in the toilet.

This game just had a bad smell to it all the way through. Just couldn't put it away. Ninth inning when your down by one run there is only one thing a guy is thinking when he's up at the plate against Chapman. and the guy did it

Chapman gave up 2 runs, at the end. Leake how many ? When ?

AC is working 5 of 6 games. Why not use Broxton there ?

Second guessing is perpetual. Leake wasn't fooling anyone, and dug an early hole. Like I said earlier, people don't want a closer to get beat on his second best, but criticize for not using one. It's unfair. An 88 mph slider was a good pitch, but not in that instance.

Chapman is the best athlete on the team- players say so. He is over armed. Leake is under armed. They both do the best they can in the role they are given. BOTH failed last night. Leake will not be asked to pitch again tonite though.

I agree on the 88 but the difference between getting Lucroy out on a 99 or a 101 is that he had timed the 99 and Chapman was trying to get a 101 and couldn't quite get it done. The 88 would have made the 99 look like a 101.
