Yeah, that's really what I'm trying to figure out. Before the schedule adjustment, the third preseason game was the dress rehearsal and the last preseason game was a chance for all the roster bubble players to make their case or put some good film up so other teams might sign them. So is this one the third game dress rehearsal or the last game roster bubble game?I could be wrong but I would be really surprised starters play long. Payton could see this as a "new opportunity" for him and wants the team to get a better rehearsal beings they are still getting chemistry amongst each other and a culture switch. That being said, just very rare you see a team play starters into the 3rd quarter the last PS game. However, this new schedule of only having 3 PS games as oppose to 4 can shake things up a little. 3 years ago no starters played the last week of PS among all the 32 NFL teams.
I do think Brett Maher needs all the work he can. Maybe we should kick field goals every time we are inside the 30 to see if he still has it.
