The Flyers had 120 straight minutes to score on Dubnyk and couldn't do it. His shutout streak is now at 195:05. You're next, Nashville.
At this point I'd rather see what Charlie Lindgren can do, that's the only thing that bothers me about the Nieme pickup.
Hey, we got a young goalie playing well, let's pick up someone who looks done!
Going for ex-Sharks goalies they should go for Jarmo Myllys.
Hey anytime I could reference Jarmo Myllys it is a good thing!
I think the Niemi pickup had more to do with Montoya's injury than Lindgren. At this point I'd rather see what Charlie Lindgren can do, that's the only thing that bothers me about the Nieme pickup.

I think Carey would even be back if Lindgren hadn't been doing so well.
They just said on the Flames Broadcast that Little Caesar's arena is the 65th NHL arena that Jagr has played a game in.
Let that sink in.
So has Eddie Lack. Here's something else to let sink in - TJ Brodie has been on the ice for all four Detroit goals in this opening period.
overs hitting at a 58% clip this year fwiw......No lack of goals scored in Detroit tonight.
I have a hypothesis, and that’s all it is at this point: I’m beginning to wonder if defensive coaching has hit its limit. It’s always easier to prevent scoring chances against than it is to create them. A huge percentage of defense at the pro level is systemic, attention to detail and funneling attackers to where you want them with five-man units.
Offense, however, requires skill and creativity to break those defensive systems. If defensive systems have hit their peak in NHL hockey, and coaches are always trying to improve their teams, there is likely to be an increased focus on breaking those systems.
