I like the spirit of the rule because it's designed in large part to hamper Crosby. I know Marek went on a tangent about how Crosby was good at faceoffs for the foot cheating, but if this really slows the game down so bad, fuck it.

Except again Crosby, keep calling it against him.

Some Gaudreau-esque moves on that goal. Or maybe Tyler Johnson is a better comparable since both he and Yamamoto played junior for Spokane.

McBackup was, uh, not good. He's only going to play 12-15 (god willing) times so just put in a decent performance in one of the remaining games and we should be fine.

That Hainsey-Rielly pairing is what really scared me.

Not to worry though. This is Ottawa's lineup for tonight's game in Toronto. Tom Pyatt is the top forward and Freddie Claesson the top defenseman.

And it sounds like Hammond will play half the game. LMAO.

Yeah they looked pretty damn awful. First pre-season game though so maybe some of that laughable D was rust.

I'm pretty sure that Hainsey should not be on an NHL first pairing barring massive injury issues though.

I'm not entirely enamoured with what they did with their D this summer, and I'm terrified that Babs will lean on Hainsey no matter how bad he gets.

There sure were enough RD available this summer to address it and now they have Rielly playing on his bad side?

Didn't even notice the Rielly on his offside thing. Seems like a bad idea to force your best young defender (arguably) onto his off wing to accommodate Ron Hainsey, but that's why they pay Babs the big bucks I guess.
