Is that an implication that I am incorrect - or that you don't want Beckham?

If it's the former. Feel free to point out the errors in my ways.

No way the Rams can pay him tgat much and keep their young talent. Goff, Gurley, Donald will all need extensions in that time and you're not going to trade 2 ones for OBJ and then release him in a few years

I've seen this broken down. They can front-load the contract and be fine.

Super risky. You give OBJ that money on that team full of young talent you're risking losing all of them if you don't take care of them when it's their turn. I don't hate it because they're close to SB level but man that's a lot to give in more ways than one.

You aren't watching football if he isn't anything special.

Disliking the guy I understand. Special players put up those numbers. He's 25, let's not pretend things.

With defenders not being able to put there heads down to tackle, @#$^ it, teams might as well just build massive juggernaut offenses .... RIP NFL defense

Rams would have to trade someone to do this, I'm guessing.

Giants wouldn't just give him up and obj isn't netting two 1sts

My guess is that the new rule will not impact the game even half as much as people think.

Possible, but you know for a while early on there gonna enforce it like mad, then realize it's a horrible rule and hopefully get ride of it... otherwise, even 2006 Bears defense would look hopeless out there...

I agree - it is undoubtedly getting greedy and pushing the limits of how a team can maneuver within the cap. However, it is possible to pull off if you really structure things right. I don't disagree that it could create some issues. It's a risk. There's no way around it. Although... the possibilities are special. Hopefully (if this is real) McVay and the FO are thinking a bit ahead. As opposed to stroking themselves over what the immediate gratification would look like.

So someone close to the agent for ODB reportedly floats something, and it is a fact? Even if this guy's source was actually telling the truth, it sounds like wishful thinking from an agent at best. Last I checked, agents don't sign checks.

Rumors, truth, or leverage to get a new contract?

The New York Daily News now reports that Beckham has told two separate Rams players that he’d like to be dealt from New York to Los Angeles.

Does Beckham want to play for the Rams? One source told me at the league meetings that Beckham has told two Rams players he wants in. He does love New York, so his feeling for the Rams could quite possibly be only if the Giants trade him. Maybe he wants LA regardless.

The Rams are going to want to get him signed to a long-term extension to avoid playing the franchise tag game with him in 2019 and 2020 after he plays for the $8.4 million fifth-year option.

With so much information swirling that is open to interpretation, it’s hard to tell the difference between fact and fiction. The Giants are reportedly fielding offers for Beckham, but aren’t exactly keen on trading him. Meanwhile, nothing official has come from Beckham’s camp.
