You still give yourself a small chance if you miss it by doing it early. You give yourself no chance if you miss it by doing it late
No you don’t. The game is over. You miss that two point conversion there it IS game over.

You can get a stop, get a FG, recover an onside kick and give yourself a hail mary. Very, very unlikely, but it is a chance.

There is NO chance if you miss the 2 pt conversion late.

Lol, I’m done arguing. No coach will ever do what you are saying and for good reason. If you can’t figure out the difference between making a game a one possession game or a two possession game with two minutes and change than I can’t help you.

I wanted him to go for the onside kick at the moment. No hindsight.
sure you did

and yet...one play on the roll out and Dallas with the ball, 2 timeouts and a boat load of time.

Rams were far and away the better team tonight

So did I, but by kicking away, if you get a 3 and out you gain yards on the punt. Onsides 3 and out they can pooch punt you inside the 10.
Yeah, I wanted the onside kick too but I do understand the reasoning for kicking it off there.

What the article doesnt say is how the other team play calls with a 9 point lead vs. an 8 point lead.
Also doesnt take into account it is played by human beings, so you need to take how your team is going to play down by 9 or 8.
BTW it is still one score, not two like it suggests.
When you need two scores (score 6 & a FG) means you will be kicking off between the two scores. Major problem when time isnt on your side.
When scoring 6 & the 2. There is no kickoffs in between.

If you ask me which is harder in the end. getting the ball back a 2nd time (onside or otherwise) to score that 2nd time or get the TD & then coin flip the 2 pt conversion. Pretty sure the 6 & then 2 at last play is a higher percentage than 6 & 3.

I honestly was interested in what the article was going to point out. But the article proved nothing.

Nothing to do with the Rams offense or OL or anything

So why dont they run for 300 yards every week then if its all about the oline???

Pretty damn obvious the Dallas front 7 was nowhere to be found. I'm pretty sure they played other good olines this season and didn't allow close to 300 yards on the ground

I just didn't have any faith in the 3 and out. Hadn't gotten a 3 and out all game.

To be fair, decision didn't look so bad on the first 2 downs. They forced the Rams in a 3rd and 7.

I would never kick the onsides in that situation ever

All week McVay heard about how he has a coaching tree and hasn't even won a playoff game. Now he is the youngest coach in NFL history to win a playoff game.

Thanks for the game, Cowboys. Best of luck next season

They were but the Cowboys probably could've stolen the game if 2 or 3 other plays went their way. The Cowboys aren't that far off from being a SB contender but you never know what next year is going to bring.

@Battlelyon Congratulations, this has been a long time coming post-Warner and through the late Martz, Linehan, Spagnuolo and Fisher eras. The Rams were mired in mediocrity long enough, it's cool to actually see them be elite again.

I still liked the St. Louis version better than LA though.

Because CJ and Gurley were too much. They and that Oline and good play calling wore the Cowboys D down.

Ball control and pound the rock. That was a clinic by McVay and our D played well too.

Amen to this. I can tell you if that game were in STL at the dome, the crowd would be crazy when the defense was on the field. Good times.

New era with McVay and I like this too. We will see. Goff misses Kupp and this team is really young, along with McVay

Good to be back
