NBA Allstar game changing format from East vs West to Captains choosing

Whichever team has the most lakers and/or pacific division participants?

I'm fairly certain both teams will have equal amounts of Lakers

Why change it up? Because the NBA all-star game is already a bit of shit show, but add in the fact that the East would not be well represented and you got = even more lack of interest

At least the NBA is trying to make things somewhat even with the draft and now this.

So Eastern conference teams can't get their shit together and the all star game suffers?

The EC being awful right now has nothing to do w/ the fact that neither team plays D or takes the A.S. game seriously. It's nothing more than a glorified practice. I think it's unwatchable.

That's what I actually like about the game. At the end of the day it's a bit of fun for the fans.

Good defensive play doesnt mean a game has to be in the 70's. Call it whatever you want, but there is NOTHING more unwatchable than the defense-less all-star game we've been stuck with forever

Defense will always come first. Offense is the last thing I'm looking at while watching games. But I grew up on Cincy hoops, so my opinion may be heavily skewed.

Won't take them being a fool, just a prideful competitor... which most all-star level NBA players are.

If the talk going into it is that the West is WAAAAY better --- which it will be ---- all the more likely East guys pick East guys to try and make a point. The only thing I could see disrupting that would be a serious friendship - like CP3 or Melo for LeBron... but I'm not sure either of them will make the all-star game anyway.
