Silver: NBA mulling East vs. West format for ASG

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in an interview with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN's "First Take" that the league is considering going back to the East versus West format in the All-Star Game this season.

I like the new format they play in now, but this team captain picking players BS is getting boring now.

Stick to East vs West again IMO

I don't know...I'm old school, so I'll never complain about East vs. West.

But I also still get a kick out of captains picking.

Maybe it's just the era I grew up watching NBA basketball in... 80's into the 90's... it seemed like that distinction and winning the game for your conference mattered somewhat... (even though it was still an all-star game, and it didn't really matter that much in the grand scheme of things).

IOW's: player like Michael Jordan seemed to care, so I kinda cared as a fan.

Most of all... I'd just like to see the players try to win a little more, especially in the 4th quarter.

But I lean more towards the E vs. W rather than captains picking.

Don't rally care for the A.S. game the way I did in the 80's and 90's.

For A.S. weekend my favorite event is the 3 point contest.

The only thing I did watch was the team draft process lol. The games are horrid. Surprised they haven't reduced it to a half court game to keep the players from getting too tired lol.

Yeah I know the players have to see the old all star games on like we do. Don’t know how they can see them and keep doing what they are doing. They weren’t competitive all the time but there were some great games with competitors on the floor.
