Its been pointed out before but the platoon system has limited the roster flexibility with options and such. I'm not sure but I think the only position players with AAA options are Zunino, Sucre, Lomo and Miller. There just isn't a whole lot that can be done unless people are DFA'd. I agree that I don't see those kind of changes for a few more weeks.

Outside of Miller, I don't see how sending any of those guys down actually can help the team. Miller for Taylor is a given, but who is going to catch, I guess Montero can play 1B, but I'm prefer to call Montero up once they DFA Weeks. If Cruz is going to play 75% in the field they need a DH who can hit. At catcher, who the f knows since there basically is no option to fix the big club without a trade. The whole Ackley thing is a tough one, they need to be on the phone trying to package him in a deal because DFA'ing him is kind of stupid IMO. Does he need to be off the big club, yes but he is still young and if they can get something for Ramirez they should be able to get someone with options back in a deal. And can't forget something needs to be shaken up with the bullpen as there isn't any confidence in basically anyone in the pen.

Hanley Ramirez looks to be as much of a great p/u for Boston as Cruz was for us. That would have been a nice get. I was worried about him playing LF, but after seeing our guys in LF, and no bat, it would have been just fine. Don't blame him for wanting to go to Boston though.

Figures a couple of our lame offensive players go yard just to do enough to keep the skipper off their asses for a little while longer.

Nice to see Zunino look for that offspeed pitch and launch it out of the park with a liesurely 9-iron swing.

Miller really pisses me off at short stop. That was a routine play and he seriously air mailed it. You can't have that shit in the middle of your infield. :tsk:

How often are we going to fuck up runner on 3rd with one out. We have to be the worst in baseball in that situation.

Cool we actually score runs and the pitching shits the bed. This team can't play one complete game.

Walker melts down when he gets in major trouble. He's either good or horrible. No in between

For comparison the Astros GM is in year 4. Ours in year 7. Just throwing that out there.

A big part of it has to be competent field staff they've hired, too.
