This is why we panic when the team plays like crap the first week of the season.

Fuck this team. Seriously. Once again, everyone was hyping them up before the season began and they take a complete dump the first month. Swept? Really? You couldn't get one fucking game? They need to send down Zunino because he's abysmal with the bat, get rid of Ackley because he's a fucking loser, and get some fresh blood on the field. I don't give a crap who, just anybody.

Just got done with HIIT, and can barely move, so I'm too tired to get upset by this team.

I'm genuinely happy for Astros fans. They have ownership and FO that know what they're doing, so the team is giving fans something we may never experience up here again.

Good for them.

And for reasons passing understanding, people critical of the team from the get go are descended upon and trashed by the part-time baseball fans who don't know what they're talking about.

The offense is about what I expected. Pitching is quite a bit worse. If pitching is even slightly better, the team is closer to .500 right now. Definitely still not a contender, but they'd be able to hang in some of those tighter games a little better.

I am impressed with the Astros. They have built a good team on a cheap budget (ranked 29th at $70.5M). The theme I see with the team is that all position players (non DH/1B/C types) are all athletic. I really put value into that unless you just have a pure hitter (think Edgar). All young pitchers are pitchers and not throwers. Defense wasn't sacrificed for offense. They let 6 on-base guys get on and add 2 all-for-nothing hitters go long (Gattis and Carter).

Well done Astros and you didn't need 7 years and counting to get it done. Who would of thunk it?

Another bonehead play in my book. Down 4 in the 6th and you run into an out trying to steal with the leagues home run leader at the plate. Sure, why not.

In this case I challenge the mariners to make me look bad for talking crap and win this game.

But the astro's will probably hit 6 home runs in their half of the inning.

You may be shaking your head, but what is the one thing coaches constantly tell players? Put the ball in play or put the game in motion and let the other team make mistakes.

Does anyone else think that the strike zone is wider than ever this year? I didn't think that was possible since I thought they were going to tighten it up some. But they may as well order home plates that are 75% bigger because they call it like that anyway.

Ya that was a horrible strike 2 call on Cano. Wider and more inconsistent.

Every year they make little changes it seems. I've noticed the same about the widening of the zone. It affects how they call low pitches on the corners, too.
