Fuck Ackley. He's done. He needs to be shipped down to Tacoma at the end of this series because there's no way he's worse than the alternative.

Last year was his last year with options. I know because I remember looking it because he was sucking like he is now. He can only be Dfa d which is fine by me but I know it won't happen

The guy is the reigning batting champ so you put the shift on and then pitch him outside so all he has to do is put bat on ball. Huh?

I'm envious of the Astros... Great looking ball club... Looks like there is a new sheriff in town....

I don't see a "GOLD GLOVE" award going to Seager this year...

Because they are better and are only gonna get even better over the next few years.

More concerned about this team now than a week ago when they were playing bad at home. You figured then that the pitching would come around and it has, but the hitting has gone right back to early last years level as well. They are going to be as streaky as they normally are it seems.

Cruz is our only offense this year... We would only have about 3 wins so far if we didn't have Cruz... Unfortunately the other turds on the team can't carry their weight....

Why the F do you let Olson pitch to RH's? He is a lefty specialists (even that is questionable). Lloyd needs to get off his ass and make the pitching changes as if M's are still in it...which they were if he didn't give up the homer!!!

If we play .500 ball all year, I can see Lloyd getting the axe...

Every reason to be concerned. They are building an identity. They are poorly coached, they run into outs on the bases and the defense is shaky. It's just sloppy in general and there are still massive holes in the lineup. Other then that were fine.

A positive is that there is so much wrong with the team that they can only go up, but we Jacked cornered himself into a position where there isn't real wiggle room and Lloyd is slowly looking like he needs to be a bench coach again.

You could see it coming. What happened to the Astros is exactly what needs to happen to the M's. Houston was sold to an owner who cares about winning, he cleaned house, got the right baseball guys (this part is important) and now their work is paying off. Will the Astros make the playoffs this year? Who knows, but they do appear set up to contend in the future. The Mariners, well they have Jack Z and Howard Lincoln and an ownership group that doesn't even live on this continent. Case closed.

I'd be more pissed off if the M's make it a habit of getting a hair's breath shy of .500 and crapping out every time like they're doing after that Texas sweep.

McClendon indicated in interviews tonight that he's going to start trying to shuffle things around a bit.

We'll see what that means soon enough, and as NW and Coug have said, a lot depends on the front office.

Last week I was saying we're maybe 2-3 weeks away from long term roster moves, but it looks like it might get accelerated We'll see.

Yep.

Ackley is just the tip of the iceberg. After years of seeing idiots talk about "high ceiling" Ackley, people are finally starting to figure out that either (1) he's a bust or (2) Jack Z hasn't hired competent enough staff to develop young hitters properly at any level, hence the fact that we have exactly 1 decent hitter from Z's drafting in the past 5 years, and that's Seager.

I'm genuinely curious about what LMC will continue to do with the garbage he has, and if Jack Z will do anything to make it better. I really wonder what the dynamic is between them. After a miraculous pitching staff performance in his first year as an MLB skipper, we're going to find some things out this season.
