8 offensive linemen in 1 elevator has to be a health and safety code violation. Doesn't it?

Looks like they were flirting with the death penalty. Those guys really need to read the weight capacity signs.

That's barely over 1 ton. Pac12 has weak elevators.

Yeah they do. I'm guessing there was about 3,000 lbs. of O-lineman in that elevator.

The story I read indicated that they were some 700 pounds over the maximum weight for the elevator. So I would say that it indicates a significant lack of ability to read and/or do basic arithmetic. Or maybe it is a general lack of common sense. Either way, I am unsurprised by events like this when college youths do stupid things.

Hmmmm Domer. A few years ago some ND people, not saying who, but they weren't students. Like you said they either had no common sense, failed to read, or ignored the warning label on the lift and left a young man in a dangerous spot during very high winds. It happens.

The Declan Sullivan disaster can't be chalked up to "youthful ignorance." And I am unwilling o pass it off with a mere "it happens." That was horrible and should never be forgotten (so that that kind of preventable tragedy doesn't happen again.)

Fortunately, the elevator incident didn't end with anyone getting hurt.

Yeah I doubt the cable would snap but these guys dont realize they are quite a load when they are together.
Midwest , high wind warning. I'm sure they are now all grounded.

Actually, I believe that Notre Dame worked with XOS Digital to create permanent video installments at the practice facility. Further, the system they developed has been adopted at numerous schools in order to replace the temporary setups that had been used for years.

It doesn't bring the kid back, and will never make the tragedy okay, but at least it is a safety improvement which (hopefully) prevents the tragedy from being repeated.

Does this result in USC hiring another coach?

Yes I think so.
If Oregon can have a costume designer on staff USC can swing an Elephant herder to get the O linemen safety from place to place.

They also have concrete, permanent risers to shoot video from, instead of portable scissor lifts.

Actually I was joking. I really didn't think USC should get an elephant herder and I really didn't think Oregon employs a costume designer for the football uniforms. It's obvious amateurs are involved in coming up with them.
