You're asserting a lack of knowledge, that's for sure.

You like Megadicks. So, your opinion is defective. They aren't even a top ten metal band.

S.O.D.'s ONE album is better than anything Mustaine could pull off.

I'd also throw Sodom out there

Metallica and it's not even close. I actually saw Metallica with Mustaine in a club when I was about 13. I still have no idea who they let me in but in the early 80's but back then in NYC there was a strict no autopsy no broken law rule
Jason Newsted beat me at foozball once.

I didn't know it was him till he left to go to his moms house.

Jane's Addiction

Good call. Their first live album and the first two studio albums were amazing. Everything since has been horseshit. I saw them live in 1989 at UC Santa Barbara and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

After pondering on this for a short time, I realized there is only 1 correct answer...

I also stand by the theory stated here:
Metallica:
*Spectacular output until Cliff died.
*Now over 25 years of one or two decent songs per album surrounded by mediocrity.
*Lars is a shitty drummer (He really has moments of being really horrible) and whined like a baby about Napster (He was right but still totally NOT metal to bitch and cry like a little girl about it).

Megadeth:
*Superior musicianship to Metallica (and it isn't even close since Cliff died and people like Robert T. have their skills stifled by the James corporate approach.)
*Consistant output: Megadeth has continued with solid to good releases for basically their entire career. If you disagree then you are biased or not paying close attention.
*Yes, Dave maybe a douche but he is still a great guitar player. He has written some of the most brilliant riffs in metal history, including several that appeared on Metallica's first two albums and possibly even some on the third. The truth is that Metallica would never have been Metallica without him and certainly has not been since Cliff's passing.

It is kind of like the HOF debate: Do you favor Terrill Davis for a few brilliant seasons or longevity like Bettis or Emmitt Smith? Both deserve accolades but their careers most certainly have had very different trajectories. In this case, I favor Megadeth.

Metallica = better songwriters
Megadeth = better musicians

In my opinion, Rust in Peace is the second best album of all time behind only Ride the Lightning. Puppets would be third.

To me, the fact that Metallica has produced nothing but shit since Justice and Megadeth has released all solid albums (except Risk), I just give the edge to Megadeth.

My problem with Rust is I hate the distortion they used for that album, makes it sound weak. But yeah, holy wars has guitar riffs that blow my mind

Do you not know what "The Big Four" is?

Its ridiculous that anthrax is included in this mythical "big 4" that always gets brought up. Anthrax is nowhere near the level of notoriety of the other 3

I think they should be replaced by Testament, but Anthrax has sold way more albums.
