Just got back from 3 days at the beach in time to see Cano take the weakest swing on earth and with no strikes. Cruz follows on first pitch and it makes it all the way out to the 3B and after a Seager walk Heredia grounds out. How special.

Oh, it looks like I missed the Hall Of Fame debut of Carlos Martinez...I mean Mr. Mr. (80's group reference who sang 'Broken Wing' take these broken wings and learn to fly again and learn to live so free.)

Here is the Debbie Downer moment: All that has happened in the series has been great, but if they lose the 2nd game of the DH it will be all for not. It will be 4 games erased off the schedule and nothing gained which hurts the team chasing a lot more than the team being chased. Let's see what they are made of.

4 pitches and three groundouts to third after a leadoff triple by Valencia. I was fully expecting that failure to come back and bite us. Pleasantly surprised it didn't.

Valenica won't hit for the cycle in a game today, but, if he gets a double in the second game he will have hit for the cycle today. Yeah, I know, whatevuh. Potato salad.

Glass half full kind of thing sure.

Going in it was you MUST take 2. They got 2 and did it with a game to spare. Losing this one would be a bit hollow, but not disastrous like losing 3 would have been.

With all of the pitching injuries and issues their overall margin of error is basically nil as it is. There will be at least a half of dozen moments the rest of the way that will feel like the nail in our coffin.

Erasmo Ramirez: 6.1 IP, 10 H, 6 ER, 0 BBs 5 Ks
Total: 10.1 IP 17 H, 11 ER, 1 BB, 10 Ks

I beg of you JD no more acquiring pitching. You don't have a clue when it comes to pitching. Please, please, please stop. Pitching is more valuable than hitting so when a team offers you a one-for-one deal giving you starting pitching for a bat (or reliever) please realize you are not getting the better end of it. Ask yourself why they are doing it and walk away.
