It's reasonable , especially after what everyones learned about the culture at Penn State, to assume that Joe Pa telling the President of the university and the campus cops getting involved , that getting to the bottom of it wasn't the main priority. You want to say USC should have known what was going on two hours from campus but people at Penn State didn't know what had happened numerous times over a period of years in the showers of their own athletic building? . You are making a gigantic leap that JOE PATERNO should JUST KNOW that things were going to be covered up. I don't know his other attributes well enough to judge if he is worthy of this new position, but I'm not sure how opinions of his father or his associates should be any part of this discussion.

Paterno was supposed to go back to school for Criminal Justice. Quit his job as coach and make it his life's mission to take Sandusky down. Anything short of that isn't enough.
