That's kind of my thinking. This is the third season in a row with a season ending injury. Does he still have confidence in his body or does he realize it may not be worth trying again.

If last night was it, that was a pretty smooth move and dunk for an old guy. Plus that first lefty jumper was real nice.

I know Kobe doesn't want to go out like this. His competitive drive just won't allow it. I can still see him playing next year.

I can see him retiring and the Buss Family still paying him, ala Magic Johnson...

Is that still allowed?

I think they would have to give him a "job" in the front office like Magic had until he sold his share of the team to be a Dodgers owner.

Yeah, probably not. I think his competitive drive has been tempered somewhat though with the recent injuries.

Another fail post brought to you compliments of TLF.:L

The poster was trying to make fun of Kobe and slam him, but as Lebron's lover - I'm just pointing out that for a player that is not as good as his precious Lebron - Kobe has 5 championships to Lebron's 1. That's just the truth now. Mock Kobe and make fun of him for missing shots, but at least Kobe never quit and gave up in the fourth quarter like Lebron has done. Just saying

Sir, I think they are poking you because Lebron has more than one ring.

That doesn't count - He cheated:pound:

Okay, my bad - I forgot about that one but by the Celtics fans logic of subtraction - only one counts. That is what they say about five of the Lakers championships isn't it?

Kobe was way better than Lebron is in the clutch. Ray Allen bailed Lebron's ass out and we all saw it.

This is important to me because had Michael played longer I have always believed he would have at least two more - minimum. No respect to Lebron, but Michael > Lebron. Physically speaking Lebron > Kobe but I think Kobe has a better basketball IQ limited by his injuries over the years. I don't think Lebron will ever have Kobe's IQ and determination to win. It just doesn't exist.

Karl Malone was more physical than Lebron, but it doesn't make him the best ever.

Lebron doesn't bring it consistently. He's a beast. BUt he's TO playing bball. :bawling:

This is true in three of the games, but not all five. One thing though: Even with Shaq Oneal, Kobe still had to be clutch and take the inititive with Shaq in some of those runs. Wthout a player like Kobe - Shaq would never have one. Wade as good as he was only helped Shaq win one championship - Not three. Without Kobe or Wade - Shaq never won again and finished his career in a pathetic and sad way

Kobe was very good. He was the closest shooting guard type player that I've ever seen as close to MJ. But he wasn't MJ.

Kobe was a dynamic shooter, but I think Michael Jordan had a iq for being a team player and getting others more involved which was most likely because MJ had better support for his entire screwed. The Lakers management screwed Kobe over with chicken shit players much of his career and subsequently has tried doing to much over his career. That had the domino effect of Kobe not developing better passing skills and trusting other players more to help contribute more, but in short - Michael was better all the way around in every department. The list from best to last would be in this order

1. Michael Jordan

2. Kobe Bryant

3. Lebron James

I am just talking about out of these three players alone by the way and am not talking about in relation to other players in the NBA.
