I totally see why he wants to leave. He already got his ring so him wanting to be the lead man doesn't shock me.
To me Kyrie is not and never will be the centerpiece of a championship team. So the Lakers would need more than him, Ingram, and Randle to seriously contend. Especially in the west. They may win more games initially but in the long run it would be a one step forward, two steps back kind of move. Plus you can't get rid of Lonzo before he even plays a game. At least not in this situation. Why not? Because he said some nice things about him in public?
His job is to make the Lakers better and Irving is a sure thing to make them better. Lonzo's not.
Wrote in the other thread, it's also about money. Kyrie needs to make an all-nba team in order to get maxed out to the fullest. It's going to be hard for him to do that in Lebron's shadow. He's looking to have a Westbrook type show and get his numbers up.
Just read the article and this thing stands out to me.
The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to go play in a situation where he can be a more focal point and no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.
Thoughts @WiggyRuss
Both of these are too lopsided to work. Wade mades too much and Monroe makes almost as much as Kyrie. Plus, both of these are not only in conference, but in division. Gilbert's dumb, but.....Here are my initial trade value thoughts:
1)Trade Irving and Shumpert to the Bulls for Wade and Lavine. Bulls get a centerpiece to build around. Cavs get Wade back with Bron if only for a year but get Lavine who's up and coming. At worst Wade's contract is up after the year to shed some cap space.
2) Trade Irving and JR Smith to the Bucks for Jabari Parker, Greg Monroe and Spencer Hawes. The Cavs get back Parker and also clear about 25M in cap space.

Hmmmm...both failed on the ESPN NBA Trade MachineMaybe trade value, but contracts wise, it matches up.

Sorry, I f'ed it up. Forgot to dump the extra weight from the CavsThe Milwaukee one worked for me:
Kyrie - 18.8M
JR - 13.7M
Monroe - 17.8
Parker - 6.7
Hawes 6.1
The Bulls one probably didn't work for you because Lavine can't be traded in combination with another player for 2 months because he was recently traded. Trade can be consummated before the season starts. But Salaries match up:
Wade -24M
Lavine 3.2M
Irving 18.8M
Shumpert 10M
Shit, Chris Paul if this had happened 2 weeks ago. What type of possibilities are out there?
Because it would screw up his cap space next Summer. Why not? Because he said some nice things about him in public?
