I think Prince could really mash in Arlington. He is certainly an offensive upgrade on a team sorely in need of offense. But outside of Yu, Perez, and an up and down Holland, we're counting on Matty H and Colby to come back from injuries? Ogando should be in the pen. And who knows what we have in Feliz.

Just saying that is a huge financial increase at 1B. And you can never have too much pitching. Never. Just hope Ray Davis learned this lesson well from Nolan.

Fielder only increases next year's payroll 4 million.

I'm not concerned about Harrison. I'm familiar with his procedure and I'm convinced he will be fine.

Darvish
Holland (guy is a stud)
Harrison
Perez
Feliz, Ogando, Tepesch, Lewis, etc
We can afford a little uncertainty at the fifth spot with those four in front.

I agree with a lot of the writers and analysts out there who say Ray Davis and Jon Daniels have more big moves planned for this offseason. Whether that means going nuts and signing Cano, trading for Price, signing McCann, or bringing in an OF bat like Choo or Ellsbury, who knows at this point?

I will say this though- no matter what moves are made or how they eventually play out, it's fun being a fan of a team willing to make bold moves in an attempt to win. I feel sorry for fans of teams like the Royals and Astros who know their teams won't be involved in headline-grabbing deals like this one. Building from within and saving money can be smart, but it certainly makes for more boring offseasons for the fans.

I think things are just getting started.

I'm thinking that getting Prince might be the end for Moreland in TX. Baker was pretty impressive against lefties last year.

Hope you're right..... Moreland had plenty of opportunities. Sad to see kinsler go, but we had to get the logjam fixed. If we can resign Cruz and convince him to DH, offense would be looking a lot better.

I really want McCann. I think he would be a great presence on this team. And if Cruz would cut us a deal, I suppose we'd welcome him back. But I'd rather see that money go to McCann. I think he'd be a bigger difference maker than Fielder for this team.

Both may be on the table now.

I don't think this trade happens with Nolan around. JMO.

Moreland: 23 HRs in 462 ABs. Much better fielder. $500K

Fielder: 25 HRs in 624 ABs. Below average 1B. $24mil

Except.......Fielder going from massive park in Detroit to Arlington where he hits 45-50 HR's

Don't know about that. The jet stream in Arlington is dead.

What, you need more money?

Best this baseman in the game and our cleanup up hitter for one year of the second best pitcher in baseball? No thanks.

Use the $30MM to sign him to a long term deal. You should only need to kick in another $150MM or so.

No thanks. We got this guy band Darvish who's pretty good. 2-4 Holland, Perez, Harrison. We're good.

Fair enough, Darvish would make a great #2, though.

We got the best third baseman in baseball locked up through 2016 and Darvish is a #1. I'd love scherzer, but not at the cost of Beltre.
