not enough thumbs down in the world for that idea :)

I agree. Just throwing it out there.

Also, does this mean Cruz is a goner for sure now?

I don't think so. Cruz may well be one of the better. Options out there. If the lineup looks like this.

LF Rios
SS Andrus
DH/1b Fielder
3b Beltre
RF Cruz
DH/1B Moreland
C Soto
2b Profar
CF Martin/Gentry

We can afford to have Soto as our full time catcher so while I'd like to add McCann he wouldn't be an absolute must have.

I don't think this trade happens with Nolan around. JMO.

Moreland: 23 HRs in 462 ABs. Much better fielder. $500K

Fielder: 25 HRs in 624 ABs. Below average 1B. $24mil

That was one year. Home runs are the least telling of the stats between these two. And Texas is only paying a little over 19 mil a year for fielder. You're better than this Jaar.

For the Rangers fans doubters out there.... 3 straight seasons the man batting in front of Fielder has been MVP. Miggy saw a lot more pitches to hit with Prince waiting on deck.

Why don't we need Price?

I'm not saying we can't use Price but he's not a priority with the staff we have in place and the money friendly staff we have. And like Romeo said, he should only come here if we have a deal in place or know for sure we're going to money whip him into staying when free agency comes.

I'm thinking that getting Prince might be the end for Moreland in TX. Baker was pretty impressive against lefties last year.

Prince will almost definitely hit third in our lineup. I don't think anyone here is doubting him.

Baker has already been claimed by another team and who knows, the font office may already have plans for Mitch.

I like this. Beltre for MVP next year?

Does that mean that Baker is definitely gone or that he could be gone?

Also, what does it mean when someone posts that pic of a robot? I've seen it before, but don't know what it means. LOL

Too bad. Maybe Mitch can finally start hitting lefties consistently. He seemed to be on a roll before he got hurt around last July.

I think Prince could really mash in Arlington. He is certainly an offensive upgrade on a team sorely in need of offense. But outside of Yu, Perez, and an up and down Holland, we're counting on Matty H and Colby to come back from injuries? Ogando should be in the pen. And who knows what we have in Feliz.

Just saying that is a huge financial increase at 1B. And you can never have too much pitching. Never. Just hope Ray Davis learned this lesson well from Nolan.

I agree with a lot of the writers and analysts out there who say Ray Davis and Jon Daniels have more big moves planned for this offseason. Whether that means going nuts and signing Cano, trading for Price, signing McCann, or bringing in an OF bat like Choo or Ellsbury, who knows at this point?

I will say this though- no matter what moves are made or how they eventually play out, it's fun being a fan of a team willing to make bold moves in an attempt to win. I feel sorry for fans of teams like the Royals and Astros who know their teams won't be involved in headline-grabbing deals like this one. Building from within and saving money can be smart, but it certainly makes for more boring offseasons for the fans.
