Since around Jan 1st, the Sixers have a winning record.

Yeah. But 4-9 since Feb 1.

I'm certainly not criticizing the Sixers. I don't think they are engaging in tankapalooza. They just aren't going to take any risks to win games.

Trading Noel for a bag of popcorn was more than they were going to get in the off-season. Noel wasn't staying. He was unhappy with his role and another team was certain to spend to get him.

I agree that they can't acknowledge that they are now tanking.

He's a restricted free agent though. They could have kept him if they really wanted to. He's shown a hell of a lot more promise than Okafor. Personally I would have kept him. I get wanting the cap room but at some point, they have to start paying people.

They literally have no choice in the matter.

If the 6ers don't, someone else will. That means the 6ers would have to start the entire process over if they walked away from Embiid. The whole point is that they are trying to collect a couple young stars to grow together. Embiid is a risk they are forced to take.

I think he really wanted to leave. So they could have kept an unhappy player.

obviously not going to win many more games this season with embiid out and noel gone, but saric is showing his skills. averaging 19, 9 boards and nearly 5 assists since the break.

team is still set up big time with embiid, saric, simmons and the vast amount of picks/swap options.
