In Cuba the odds that a person who had tried to defect numerous times would have the connections or money to buy the proper PEDs to keep themselves in that kind of shape (if it was drug produced) is pretty slim if not impossible.

Wow you're right no way Puig could be only 4 years older in his pic than Lebron. he has to be at least 9 years older or more. lol

You're talking out of your ass.

The current batch of Cuban defected baseball players are leading the way for a new crisis of PEDs in MLB and it's not even debatable. Do some very basic research on the matter before you start insulting others as though you actually know something about it.

No one believes that Puig is 22. Only you.

That would be suspect if Puig is older then the 22 they are claiming, although there could be reasons other then ped's for not being truthful about his age. On his side of the argument, I have seen 14 year olds that looked like 22 years olds when I was 16(this was 38 years ago), looked mature, but wasn't. They thought I was about 21 when I was barely 17 so it does happen

The PEDs have nothing to do with why he'd lie about his age. Like Miguel Tejada, he can choose any age he wants and it adds years and $$$ to his career. Have you not ever heard of Caribbean baseball players pathologically lying about their age?

Nice work detective Fife. whens the last time these two were in Cuba? LOL

They're Cuban. I thought you said that Cubans don't use steroids? Which is it? Within 2 minutes I prove that two of the most notorious cheaters in the history of the game were Cuban and now all the sudden you pretend like you didn't just say that.

Again, you're talking out of your ass.

Because your wife is Cuban, you're taking this personally and banging your head against a brick wall in an attempt to make some obscure point which none of us even understand.

So are you in Cuba or the Dominican? YOu say you to escape six times, but since when does Cuba have the internet? I'm just trying to get an understanding of your background a bit. You sound well informed and I agree with you on most accounts, but I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the Cuban government would gladly supply Puig with the ped's themselves if it meant one of their own getting to the pro's. The perfect example I can think of would be China who collected a large percentage of Yao Ming's earnings in his career in the NBA. I don't think that would be possible for Cuba to exert that kind of pressure on some one in the USA, but I don't know anything about the government in the Dominican and I do think that would be possible even though It's not likely.

My main focus is that there seems to be a direction the general public is taking now of accusing good players of juicing it up when they start playing good. Convenient for the opponents on the losing end of a season in my opinion, and a bit unfair - not that life is ever fair. If life was fair, your wife wouldn't be the boss:laugh3:

I'm not in Cuba I"m in Los Angeles. My in laws are Cuban and have many family members in Cuba. Up until three years ago they wernt allowed back. Puig had tried to leave Cuba six times and was sent back each time and was taken off the Cinfuegos baseball club and not allowed to travel. He's been in the Cuban league he's not some unknown who shows up with a fake birth certificate.

You proved you know nothing about this subject when you said that the most famous baseball player in Cuba since Jose Canseco didn't have access to steroids.

For your own sake, just stop.

The Dodgers haven't been serious contenders in 20 years, so I have been anxiously waiting and hoping this day would come, but not paying them a lot of attention, but it's a common problem in third world countries and even worse in the socialist/communist countries where the athletes are pressured and threatened to be the best. Those countries will do exactly like China did in the gymnastics - when they put ten year olds into the Olympics and created fake id's.

That being said, however Puig appears to me to be a raw, but immature talent. I have been watching him and he lacks the maturity that I would expect from someone older and more mature. I'm not saying that is proof of his age though because some kids grow up slower for various ages. Until I have more I am willing to give Puig the benefit of the doubt.

You're confusing players from other countries who pop up out of nowhere at 22 ( according to them) when no one ever heard of them before . Puig played as 16 year old and was on the National team at 18. For you to be correct he would have started lying about his age when he was 14 -15 years old. For what reason would the Cuban government want him to be younger? It doesn't matter to them they play on the team as long as they are good. Again you are clueless. You don;t know the difference between a communist country and the Dominican. Your picture of Jose Canseco is about as relevant as showing a picture of Roger Clemens as proof that Mike Trout has to be roiding because he's white and that shows all white players roid.

They would have a lot riding on it to be honest because in order to play here, he has to get a visa that will be honored by the USA and Cuba and in return - Cuba will get 30 to 50% of his entire salary - that money in dollars does a lot of things in Cuba. I don't believe he is older then 22 years old, but truthfully the Cuban government stands to gain a lot

Canseco was roiding here you idiot. It had nothing to do with being Cuban. He was born there but grew up here. You really should do a little research before you post. LOL. Oh and Puig wasn't the most famous baseball player in Cuba when he was there. Seriously you don;t know squat.

If Puig lied about his age, It could affect his elgibility to play in the USA on his Visa. Teams like Atlanta, Pittsburg, and the Cardinals would gain a lot by seeing Puig forced out at playoff time

Mabe he did, and mabe he didn't - sometimes these third world countries has hidden agendas - Hey look I agree with you that your version is correct - but I have been around for a few years, so I can't completely discount the dishonesty and capabilities of countries like Cuba and the Dominican either. I am just saying that Hammer has some valid questions even thought I don't agree with them. In today's society anything is possible. I personally believe Puig acts like a 22 year old and is only 22 though. I see him making mistakes, getting reprimended and responding to the manager the way a 22 year old kid would respond.

Google is your friend. Do some basic research on how rampant steroids are among Cuban baseball prospects and then come back and try again. Until then, stop pretending that you're defending Puig for any reason other than the fact that your wife is Cuban because you have yet to say anything relevant to this discussion.

Still waiting where you show that i said " Cubans don't use steroids". You seem to be avoiding that. You posted it as a quote so I'm waiting to see where I said that.
