No way. Dodgers hitting RISP...rules it out.
The yankees. Vs. Dodgers of the 70s were more exciting. Must see tv every game. Super stars all over the diamond

Actually depending on where you lived in a quite compact region, 1944 was probably the best WS ever.

To answer the OP's question, no. This Series was awesome, but game 7 was a complete let down. If it had gone into extras like '97 and '16, then we can talk.

If you remove homerism from it, the best World Series would be considered 1975, 1986, 1991, and 2001 in some order that's open to debate. I would say 1991 is the best World Series (though that may sound like a homer to some people).

6 games within 2 runs at the 7th inning stretch (the only one that wasn't was Game 1)
5 games decided by 1 run
4 walk-offs
3 extra inning games
2 teams that had gone from last-to-first
1 pitcher pinch-hitting (the only time it's happened in the World Series since the implementation of the DH)

Maybe the moment that spoke loudest about the quality of the 1991 World Series was this moment of class at the start of Game 7

To add a little context to that moment, Smith had run over Harper at home plate in Game 4 (Harper held on to the ball for the out).

1991 had 5 games that were tied in the 8th or later and 4 walk-off wins. It did have one blowout, which this year doesn't have any so far, but we'll see. I'd say 3 out of the 5 games have been great, 2 of them have been excellent. The other two have been very good.

That blowout was actually a 2 run game at the 7th inning stretch, but the Braves scored 9 runs their last 2 turns at bat to blow the game open.

The NLCS was 10x more exciting, imo.
Lots of LCS are as interesting or more than a lot of W.S.
The worst I ever saw was 1994.

So, I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this but, this World Series is AMAZING. Couldn't of asked for a better series (unless the Yankees were involved :-) ). But is this the best World Series of all-time? If it isn't what is?

DISCUSS!!
It was an entertaining WS, but the best 2 WS were the '91 and 2001 WS as far as good ball playing, The problem with the 2001 WS, good as it was gamewise, was the steroid abuse (look at Gonzalez who had the game winning hit).

You get sharper by the day!

For some fans that was the worst possible timing. Frank Thomas' peak year, very much in line for a triple crown. The best team the Expos ever had, they were the best team in baseball that year. Etc.

The excitement was kind of connected to how much hype the networks were willing to throw at it this year. Having LA in there made it easier. I think the fact that the games were going to be played in warm dry weather made the promotion easier because there was no holding back on the WHEN tonight's game happens.

Still, I don't think this W.S. was especially well-played. Yes, some moments, and I am a big fan of the 13-12 game over the 1-0 game. But the 2016 W.S. was way more interesting to me.

Lousy relief pitching outshined the fireworks for me this year.

Entertaining, but not high quality baseball.

'44 gets excluded automaticly for me on account of the War. Even if that isn't fair.
