You're probably right. I attended the 6th game of that series which was a dbacks route. So I went down to game 7 with a local pro ticket scalper who said we could get in for $150-175. Well, tickets were going for $200 when we arrived and my scalper friend said the prices will drop. Instead, the prices dramatically increased to $350-400 just to get in the door! So we ended up going across the street to a huge bar where we watched the game on big screen tv's. What was really cool that night was a B-2 bomber did the flyover, and back then none of us knew what the hell it was.

I was outside of the ballpark for game 7 of the '01 WS too. That shit was crazy! There were like 20,000 people out there with the projection screens and the outside bars everywhere. It was right before I went into the army. I was 19 and got so drunk that night!

So much for "Good Pitching beats Good Hitting"

Seems like that statement becomes less and less true every year

The balls are hella juiced though. From 538:

The two powerful offenses combined for the second-most runs in a World Series game ever

Trailing only
this similarly epic battle between the Phillies and Blue Jays in 1993.

">1 and broke numerous home run records along the way. Amid speculation that World Series balls have been altered — in a season full of juiced-ball theories — the two teams hit seven homers. Just as the 2017 regular season was the year of the home run, this postseason has smashed the all-time homer mark.

People that know a lot more than me (Jessica Mendoza this morning on ESPN for instance), talk about the stitching being different, the leather smoother, and the ball just generally tighter

She says that all players know it

They've done actual studies this year too and the science shows the ball has an extra 15-40 feet of carry. Google it.

On another note, Kershaw is killing his legacy

Not really, he's gonna be a first ballot HOFer even if he is all regular season genius and mediocre postseason.

It's weird, for the regular season Kershaw is way better than Bumgarner, but then Bum is so much better in the playoffs. Go figure.

Last week a couple of Dodgers fans on here were talking serious exception to me saying that I wasn't sure his postseason struggles were over. I wasn't even derogatory, I just said that he's had some great games but the jury was still out from my perspective.

They got all sensitive and pulled some "yeah, but Kluber sucked this year" nonsense, as if one thing has to do with the other.

They were online during the game last night, I tagged them and asked about it, but they ducked.

I read this morning that he's given up more homeruns this postseason than any other pitcher in the history of baseball.

I just don't see how someone could not question his postseason makeup. He's arguably the best pitcher of his generation and he's got a 4.50 ERA in 118 playoff innings.

I'm still interested to see what their response is to Kershaw's start, so ... @OutlawImmortal @CatsTopPac, care to share your thoughts?

Some of that not his fault...baseballs are juiced

That is why there is no correct answer as it is too subjective. I liked this one best because I'm a Cardinals fan.

Your avatar is legit, props.

Thank you for providing that “context,” msg. You didn’t happen to go to the CatsTopPac school of pitcher evaluation, did you?

He’s got the highest 2017 WS ERA of pitchers with 5 or more IP. Are the balls he’s tossing extra juiced, because that’s not something I’d expect to see from the best pitcher of his generation?

he currently owns the highest ERA+ of all-time among starting pitchers (only Mariano has a better ERA+). His raw ERA ranks 24th all-time, but that's behind a bunch of deadball era pitchers. he's a shoo in.

So, I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this but, this World Series is AMAZING. Couldn't of asked for a better series (unless the Yankees were involved :-) ). But is this the best World Series of all-time? If it isn't what is?

Dunno if it is since the first million or so happened before I was too little to care ... but I certainly hope we can at some point lay to rest the bulshit myth that the 1960 series was so great because of Mazeroski's home run. That was one of the worst W.S. ever up to that point.
I think 1991 is my choice because mostly of the teams that were in it and where they were in 1990.

I think most true baseball fans realize the 1960 World Series wasn't that great. Had a great moment. But not a great series.

GAME SEVEN sucked and sort of ruined the build-up

Errors, piss poor hitting in the clutch, lifeless stadium, pop-ups

Games 1-6 were great, but the deciding game knocks this series out of the running for all timers

Just Misses being an all time great
