And how abysmally awful would our line have been if Ifedi HADN'T been learning on the job? I shudder to think.

So then what? Start fant and gilliam again?

Gilliam is as good as gone, imo... Carroll and the staff love Rees Odhiambo so he could be a replacement... I'd be surprised though if they don't try to upgrade one of the tackles positions, whether its via the draft or FA...

Trading players is a possibility too, i will be surprised if graham is on the team next year.

Seems like they want to keep willson, and it makes no sense to have $15m+ in cap space for TE.

So who knows, maybe graham is draft day trade bait.
I figure we keep both.

Last year's draft was a prime example

We took Germain Ifedi who hasn't panned out (So far) while Derrick Henry was still on the board

A Henry and Prosise combo would have been a great thunder and lightning tandem. That would have allowed Rawls to fully recover and he would have been thrown into the mix around week 4-5

Could not disagree more. 2015 draft was one of the few that had enough good OL that it was possible to draft one near the end of the first round. Seahawks don't take advantage of that, it would of been a mistake IMO.
Hardly consider Ifedi a bust, in fact he looks promising to me.
Henry has looked good in limited appearances, but he still a back up on his team. To early to say how good he'll be.

Agreed. I really liked the Ifedi pick, and he seemed to suffer a great deal with that early injury. He started off rough when he first came back, but he had fewer and fewer mental mistakes and completely missed blocks as the season went on.

It's the most likely scenario. I know you hate it. You've written about it over and over. But, Pete wants to play the long game - which means developing your own line. It was bumpy this season, and they were as inconsistent as the rest of the team, but they're still young and could actually improve in the coming seasons.
I definitely see a likelihood that Fant is the LT. Give him a full off-season as the incumbent on top of what he learned this year, and let's see what he can do with it next season. I expect some competition at RT though, and that's the 1 spot I think is most likely to have some new in '17.

Shawn Alexander turned out ok...
I think Derrick Henry is going to be ok too. Time will tell.

I'd take a flyer on Bo if he comes out next year and Rawls has another injury riddled season.

Under saban i mean. They are all basically the same guy and none have been any good. Eddie lacey so far has been the best one and he has only been slightly better than average. Always out of shape and injured.

Mark Ingram hasn't been too bad... Not every RB coming out of college is going to be a Trent Richardson...

That's like saying that we should've never drafted a QB under 6' because they rarely pan out...

If we're possibly losing a second taking a RB should be completely off the board.

:hope: Jabrill Peppers :hope:

I very much like Peppers. I think he'd be a great utility guy in our backfield which we sorely missed this season. Shead was a off/on but did okay, Lane was terrible, Chancellor was hurt, Thomas was hurt, Sherman was apparently playing hurt. Outside of D-Line (INTERIOR)/O-Line (EXTERIOR) our secondary was fairly abysmal this season.

Peppers offers the versatility to play slot/#2 if Thomas/Chancellor are healthy and the ability to START at FS/SS if Thomas retires (calling BS but God I hope it doesn't happen)/gets injured or Chancellor gets injured.

Thomas/Chancellor play pretty rough, so it's no mystery that the injuries for both these guys are going to start piling up. I think we need to address it before it gets too far. Peppers is the kind of athlete and versatile player that Pete/John covet.

I'd honestly be fine surrendering a 4th and trading up 4-5 spots to nab him. Even with the forfeit picks (5th off season and potentially 2nd) we should get a 3rd-4th for Irvin and a 5th for Sweezy.

Ah shit just remembered we traded our 4th to the Patriots.

Jesus as of now we're in shit land draft wise.

1st
2nd - possibly forfeit
3rd
4th - TRADED
4th - Compensatory (CANNOT be traded) - Irvin
5th - forfeit
5th - Compensatory (CANNOT be traded) - Sweeze
6th
7th

Jesus, WTF. Seattle REALLY needs this Carroll/Sherman injury thing to get passed over.

I believe the NFL changed the compensatory rules this year - they can be traded now.

Ya we wont be picking at 26, we will def trade down and i actually agree. Its a deep draft and extra 3s and 4s could turn into good players.

Sad because we lost a 5th rounder last year too due to Carroll disobeying the rules...
