Pretty safe to write it off unless you want to light some candles, burn some incense, and pray that we go on a historic miracle run during the ACC tournament and win the thing.

This team just finds ways to lose. We were absolutely dreadful in the 1st half but came out with a fairly solid offensive strategy in the 2nd half. Despite this, we gave the ball away on way too many possessions and forced shots in bad situations. BYU shot 33% FG and 20% from 3. This was done mostly with a man to man defense. And like Croc said, when we went to a 2-3, BYU built it's lead back up. Just finding ways to lose. You fix one thing, yet you go lax in another area.

cool story bro

At least we did something on offense other than pass the ball around the arc for 40 minutes. We missed a lot of the shots but we got the ball into the post and attacked of the dribble. We just don't have a play maker. Green is really good but not good enough to carry the team. The big guys played better but we have no force inside as we all know.

I was thinking the same thing. I think we have a tendency to overrate player talent. If you look, even ACC teams which we've done much better than have had a few NBA draft choices. The only draft choice we have had during Seth Greenberg's tenure is Washington, who was the 29th pick in the 2nd round.

We are frustrating to watch. Easy misses, turnovers, and bad shots. I don't know which part pisses me off the most.

I was, but I turned it off and decided to go prick myself with needles....less painful.

Haha. I'm just killing time before the senior bowl, which starts at 4.

19 points at half. Cant help but shake my head and laugh.

Probably could have won that game had we not been downright dreadful in the 1st half. Took a lot of bad shots in the first half from long range and missed them (surprise!). Even when we got down low (like 5 times the whole half), we'd miss a layup. Davila got blocked by the rim once >_<

2nd half was much much better. We figured out that the pick and roll is actually effective when you pass the ball to the big when he rolls instead of just pulling up for a long two every time. Once that happened, the offense had more flow. Eddie got aggressive as well on some drives to the hoop. Green was pretty bad today though. I think he led us in scoring but his shot was way off. Several times he forced a jumper when he had a man open cutting to the hoop. Oh well. At least they made a game of it. Maybe Greenberg and Company will figure out how to play for the full 40 minutes next time.

BTW, that foul on Brown with a minute left that gave Mosley 3 FTs was bullshit. Brown probably had no business being that close but what little contact there was didn't alter the shot and I'm pretty sure Mosley initiated it after the release.

^^ Great post. I agree with every single one of your points Turkey, except as ticky-tacky as it was, what Brown did was a foul IMO (albeit a stupid doo-doo dumb freshman one).

This was the FIRST game of the season I saw solid offensive flow or anything resembling an ACC-caliber offensive gameplan.

I was discussing hoops with a sportsbook in the area and he said to me - When will Seth realize his dribble drive based offense is either not being understood by the players or simply ineffective in the ACC?

My response: Seth needs to abandon whatever he's trying to do on offense and ask Rob Ehsan to teach him Gary William's flex offense haha.

Somewhat TIC, but hell, it's not just our players. We have more shooters than we've ever had on a VT Greenburg-led team, the problem is they are having to create most of their shots for themselves.

I was impressed today though.
