Chatelain: Mere tweaks won't fix what ails NU offense - Omaha.com

I have said it for 3 years that Watson should have been escorted out the door with Callahan. In 3 years he's been OC, he's had to change the offense in mid season twice. He can't or doesn't make half time adjustments. He runs certain plays to death, even though they don't work in tough games. I don't understand why Bo can't see this. Is he so fixated on defense?

The article says the offense is "soft", and I have to agree. I think Bo is forcing Watson to run what he doesn't want to run, or capable of teaching properly.
This isn't as bad as the Callahan years because the defense keeps us in games and will win some games for us. But we will never get over the hump with Watson as OC. Just wish Bo would realize this.

I agree with everything you said. I said when Leach was let go from Texas Tech and Mangino from Kansas that either one of those guys would work great with Pelini. They both have an intense focus and fire on the game of football. I swear Watson doesn't have a fire in his body or the passion.

If Bo finds an offensive coordinator that shares his same passion; this team could be unstoppable. Of course there would be some literal killing of opposing players and ref's on the field. If Bo is the devil on your shoulder; Watson's the angel on the other...
