This is pretty standard for young star players a couple of years away from a max deal. It's a warning shot to the front office. "I want to stay here, better give me a reason to do so". The alternative would be to say "I can't wait to get out of here" and then you deal with pissed off fans and a FO that won't put anything around you.

Yeah, it's likely a little of both. He wants them to make sure that he has the pieces he needs to win and would like to be kept in the loop on any moves the Bucks are considering.

End of the day, he's letting the Bucks know what he wants in order to stay.
