Day to Day
The real season starts for the Pqatriotson Sunday night with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kick offis scheduled for 8:30 PM EST.
Steelers tied the Chiefs in 2018 for the most sacks with 52. In 2017 they had 57 and led the NFL. Needless to say, sacks do not relate directly to championships, but sacks do relate to QB injuries. The betting line is that the Steelers will have 6 sacks. With a new offensive line in place that really hasn't play much at all this preseason, I can understand how the sack number can be placed. I also think that Dante Scarneccia has seen or heard about the 6 sack number and will have the OL ready to play. The Vegas line has held steady since April 20th and is still at -6 Patriots.
The Steelers do struggle a bit with the rushing game and the Patriots have a really strong rush. They can also put any of their running backs either as a single back or in a two back set and all of them are better than average pass catchers. The Steelers will have to respect the rush and not just fly at Brady.
The Patriots defensive attack could cause Big Ben a lot of problems. He's not mobile and he doesn't have AB as his relief valve anymore. Ben could be sacked as often as Brady, possible more.
Right now, this appears to be one of the best games of the week.
Everyone wants to get off on the right foot to start any season. Fortunately for the Patriots they'll be home and are tough to beat in Gillette Stadium.
From the Big Ken cheap seat, this will be a donnybrook but the Patriots prevail at home 31-21.
