Looks pretty good, no? Nobody in the west stands up against this roster as it stands, and it could change. Still could get Fielder or Cespedes, Darvish, trade for Shields, etc....but we look really good if ST started tomorrow.

it does look good........but WS good?????

It's all about making the playoffs. Anybody can get hot and make a run in October, including this roster here.

Gonzalez is a FA currently...fyi

Bullpen still needs a little tweaking...and they need a CF.
Not 100% on the rotation... but that's what Spring Training is for...

Texas is very interested in bringing gonzo back, and I would be fine going into ST letting gentry, Martin, and Borbon battle it out.

They were also interested in bringing Cliff Lee back...and CJ Wilson.
Doesnt mean they will...

Until he puts ink on paper, he is still a Free Agent.

Texas did everything in its power to sign lee, and they apparently weren't that concerned with bringing CJ back. Stfu.

Yup. If winning the WS were as simple as spending the most money and having the best roster on paper, NYY would win it every year. It's all about who's playing the best in October and managing. This roster will keep us alive after 162 games. That's the best anyone can logically expect out of any given season. Some of us are so spoiled by the last two seasons that they believe every big move not made is a giant step backwards.

it does look okay. offensive the team does look good but the starting pitching is a concern but i think the FO has plans but TB has stated that Shields will NOT be traded no matter how hard you wish it. They have said that Wade Davis and/or Jeff Niemann are available

I think Niemann may be a good target.

wonder what it would take?

MLB is saying that the Cubs want to much for Garza

I know they wanted Feldman, but that couldn't have been the hang up. They had to have been asking for some combination of Ramirez, Perez, Olt. I don't see them asking for Profar as they have Castro.

it was. the Cubs wanted Feldman and a couple of high prospects. basically they wanted to recoup what they gave up to get him

Not really reasonable as his value has gone down. He was a .500 pitcher last season. Gotta buy low and sell high. Not the other way around.

It will be interesting too see if they move him. Sounds like the rangers already moved on.

I still maintain that we're fine with the 5 we have if no other moves are made. Scotsman I know you don't agree so we don't really have to continue this dance.

I still think Feldman may be a key part of the rotation this year. I could easily see another 17 win season out of him. They have to be planning on using him for something besides long relief because there's interest in him and Texas seems reluctant to deal him.

That's very possible, or at the very least we could start him to raise his trade value and THEN deal him. Or just keep him in the pen. I'm fine with all 3. If he wins 17 games, awesome. If he plays well in the first half and we get a good deal for him, cool. If we keep him in the pen, that means our starters are doing just fine and there's no need for him.
