Dude we had Tommy Rees as our QB last year and a brutal schedule to go along with it. I don't think anyone on here honestly expected more than 8 or 9 wins in the regular season with Tommy as our starter.

I will call everyone out on their BS and ask for proof if they thought we were a 10+ win team with Tommy.

There were many that said ND would have won 10 or more games if they had Golson last year.

You started a blog saying fire him and you like him? I'm just saying give him a little more time, another season, maybe 2. Weis never had your Irish in the National title game either. That should buy Kelly a little more time.

we were a 9-10 win this year especially when u start 6-0. its been a melt down.

I agree. My point is you don't fire someone from one down year. There needs to be a pattern.

What competition did he play down to? Ville is going to end the year with 9 or 10 wins. They have one bad loss. The other losses all came to teams who will win at least 9 games.

Are you kidding?

This program plays down to competition every season.

We played down to Purdue and Syracuse earlier this year, then we played down to UNC and Navy, and then finally it caught up to us and we were beaten by Northwestern.

i dont mind giving kelly another season but if he doesnt go 12-0 or 11-1 next its a wasted season. no reason not to do so. unless major injuries.

please look at it again. really not super hard schedule. 2 tough games maybe (usc and stanford). its a mid of the road type schedule. i say to start the season SOS will be 40-50. this year our SOS was 4th.

8-5, 8-5, 12-1, 9-4, 7-4 so far. There is a pattern here.

Look, I am all for program building and consistency, and Kelly has elevated the play from barely .500 ball to slightly better, with one great outlier season where they were utterly exposed to what a real national power looks like. And yet this team couldn't carry that experience into the next season. They regressed to the mean for Kelly. I think we've gone as far as we are going with Kelly, he's built a good foundation so maybe, with the right hire, they can finally get back to being a championship caliber program. But Kelkys not adaptive. He's too beholden to his system. So, even with the Stars aligning with an easier schedule and a more experienced team, we're still gonna assume the crash position because his offense is going to give everyone fits.

To me it's a huge issue, Brindza needs to sit on the bench until it's time to kick off, go find a soccer player from the team to kick field goals anyone would be better than him right now.

This^^. His offense is utterly dependent on a top flight QB, he's a supposed expert, and he seemingly can't attract elite QB's, or develop a reliable backup. Is Zaire that bad that he can't sit Golson who has become too unreliable to protect the ball. Remember how how pathetic that Hendrix was when he had to come for Rees? Does the starter need all the work? And if the QB can't get it done, the thought of developing a good running game to help out doesn't seem to cross his mind.

When they go 3-9 or 4-8 you can panic.

I was honestly surprised when they started 6-0, I didn't think they were that good. Maybe they came back down to earth a little?

holy crap purguy. just this past week when i suggested he wouldn't be missed you wrote

""ND would go backwards if he left. He would be a Big loss. remember how long it took to find a HC to bring us back…..like 20 years . I hope he stays. ND is better with him then with out him."""

one game later and a loss to a good team and now you want him fired? :wtf2:

Kelly hasn't gotten it done this year. Golson didn't play as bad as in previous games but mistakes are too costly for this team. The defense is lost because they have no depth because they haven't done great job recruiting voids in their defense when it was obvious it was going to be an issue.

But that is the issue purguy because the depth is so young they are lost and damn near useless on the field. Sure the suspensions hurt but the team was going to be operating on a thin line with the depth of their defense to begin with and injuries would have hurt them anyway. They have mismanaged the depth of the defense it is really that simple. Nyles Morgan isn't ready to play and it is obvious. The fact that one of the veterans doesn't know the defense any better than him falls on the coaches.

We also forget the we lost tuitt and Nix who had 1 year left. These 2 guys are BIG loses. If we had Nix this year you wouldn't be able to run pin us.

Lets Just hope we beat USC. A season where you beat Mich, Stanford and USC is an ok year for me.
