By the end of '18, the regular OF COULD be Shaw in left, Duggar in center and Parker in right.

(Hell, I could have seen this being a thing this year if the Giants went all in on the youth movement and Duggar wasn't hurt the majority)

I love Shaw's easy power. Looks like he's playing tennis out there. Am I the only one who see's Adam Dunn in his swing? He doesn't have Adam Dunn's power (80 grade), but I totally see the same easy, simple power stroke there.

edit: Adam Dunn video

Tyler Herb, the player named later that we received in the Chris Heston deal. Funny enough, he's basically Chris Heston! Somewhat old for his league, not a hard thrower but a groundball machine, sinkerballer type pitcher.

Also, glad you brought his draft position up because he is Rule 5 eligible this offseason. Another name to keep an eye on.

So we can expect him to throw a no-hitter early in his big league career and it all go downhill from there?

And is later traded for David Hughes, a sinker baller, and he'll throw a no-hitter early.......

Any word on Ramos? He has not played since the beaning...
I haven't heard anything but here's my hunch on the situation. Given that the organization has seen issues with concussions on some of their big league hitters (Posey, Belt, Panik, Morse (heh heh)), they are probably very skittish about one of their top prospects having any issues with playing after a head trauma, regardless of whether or not he passed concussion protocols. Since the AZL season ends September 1st, Ramos will probably just sit the next week and then, maybe, play some winter ball if he is okay.

From Pavlovich

Top draft pick is the latest Giant to be sidelined by a concussion

Ramos was tearing up the Arizona League, hitting .348 with a .404 on-base percentage, six homers, six triples and 11 doubles. The 48 strikeouts in 138 at-bats are a bit of an early concern, but the Giants are not stressing too much over a 17-year-old with a 1.049 OPS in his first professional season. Ramos is expected to miss 7-10 days, which is disappointing because the Giants were hopeful he would get a big taste of postseason action, even if it is just in the rookie league in Arizona.

The injury continues a stunning trend. Chris Shaw and Bryan Reynolds are the only prospects out of the organization's top seven -- per MLB Pipeline -- who have avoided an injury setback. There is some good news, however, for a couple of those players who have gotten hurt. Austin Slater is 10-14 days from starting a rehab assignment, although he would probably need the San Jose Giants to make their postseason to see significant game action.

Steven Duggar was promoted from San Jose to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday and had a good first night. He's unlikely to be a September call-up because of the injuries, and he's also in the same situation as Shaw and Andrew Suarez as a player who doesn't have to be added to the 40-man roster this offseason.

Sacramento River Cats (AAA) lost 6-5

Chris Shaw 3-5, 2B, 1 RBI, 2 K. Batting .326/.366/.621 (.987 OPS), with 7 homers, 17 runs, 19 RBI, a .415 wOBA, and 149 wRC+ since July 26th. His walk rate has plummeted, and K rate risen, but he's holding his average afloat and his power as well since his promotion. Wonder if this is something the Giants asked him to do, or just a simple streak. We'll see.
Orlando Calixte 1-3, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 K.
Mac Williamson 1-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 BB. Seems like Mac has found himself in a Nate Schierholtz situation:
Jose Flores 2.0-6-4-4-2-0
Kraig Sitton 2.0-3-1-1-0-1
Dusten Knight 2.0-0-0-0-0-4
Reyes Moronta 1.2-1-0-0-1-1. With an injury thrown in, and a few days in the majors, Moronta only has 31 games, 33 innings under his belt. Should be a September callup and is one of the more fresh arms in the system. Could see a lot of time.

DSL Giants (Rookie) Season has concluded. Finished in 2nd place in the "Baseball City" division, with a record of 31-20 and did not qualify for the playoffs

AZL Giants (Rookie) WALKED OFF 8-7

Aaron Bond 3-5, 2 HR (8), 3 RBI, 2 R, 1 K. Heliot Ramos has garnered a lot of the attention, and for good reason. He was the 1st pick. But do not over look Mr. Bond. The 12th rounder of the 2017 draft was a JUCO 2, so he's a little bit older than other JUCO draftees, but younger than 4-year college draftees. He went to the same JUCO as Brandon Belt. He's a really athletic outfielder, and he's a legit 6'5" with a great frame to build into (and sitting at only 195 lbs, the Giants will get him with their strength and conditioning guys). He has some really interesting raw power potential. Best case scenario for him next year is starting in Augusta. So far, he's on track.

I'm really starting to question the sanity of the FO. This is the year to bulk up on Sept callups, not back off on the number like Bochy suggests. Play the kids, you knuckleheads!

I'm really stewing over Schulman's Twitter post. Does the FO really get that butthurt that easily that they'd let one of their better hitting prospects in the upper minors rot over some issue?

Yeah it really pissed me off at the time too. I mean, we don't see behind the scenes stuff, but the kid seemed well-liked enough, as has a ton of talent.
