Iowa could be a dangerous team in the NCAAs if they ever figure out how to get the ball down low and score from inside. As it stands, most of Iowa's points are from the perimeter......fine if you have consistently good shooters. But Iowa's defense is what will get them Ws. You might say OSU played a sloppy game but I would say Iowa's D caused that sloppiness.
All these games underscore just how mediocre the league is. After Wisconsin, there is a big drop off to Maryland, and after Maryland, there is a big drop off from 3-11 in this league. Outside of Wisconsin and Maryland the B1G accomplished very little in OOC.
Ohio State and Michigan State are no locks to even make the tournament this year. This has all the making of 10 years earlier when Illinois breezed through the conference, and the conference only got 4 bids to the tournament. Ohio State may finally be penalized for continually playing garbage OOC games, they don't have the B1G this year to improve it that much.
I was just telling my buddy that 3 of Iowas losses came to teams that were better than every team in the B10 aside from Wisconsin ( Texas, Iowa State and UNI ) and that I thought Iowa may be the second best team in the league from what Id seen. He told me I was nuts. LOL. This win helps my case.
If anyone in this thread thought you knew what the fuck you were babbling about, you might be taken seriously. Piss off for shitting on our party you fuck.
Enlighten me on exactly where I am wrong? I said: Wisconsin is the best team in the B1G, followed by MD, and then followed with a lot of mediocrity. Iowa appears to be the 3rd best team, but even they performed poorly OOC(Non conf. RPI of in the 80's) Beating Ohio State doesn't appear to be anything of great significance.
And finally I said Ohio State played a poor OOC schedule, again. Which is true since their OOC schedules have been in the 200's the last 6 years.
This is nothing new and no, OSU won't be punished for playing a weak OOC schedule. Since Matta took over, he's missed the tourney only one time. If OSU doesn't make the tourney, it'll be because of poor conference play, not what they did OOC.
