The bar with the movies up to Endgame was set so high - not just the movies on their own but their cohesion into an overarching story - that everything after is a bit of a disappointment.

My daughter puts it on the absence of Stan Lee.

We'll watch them, but we don't rush to the movies any more like we used to. Still haven't seen the last Ant Man.

I just think they have jumped the shark with Endgame. Like...the market is so flooded with Marvel products now that it is just so damn hard to want to keep up...literally everything is "must watch" so you can know all the storylines going into one of their big movies.

They don't even have big movies any more.

Up through the first Avengers movie they averaged one movie a year. They increased in frequency as they neared Endgame and put out three in 2018 and 2019, but the audience was on board because they had built it up so well.

Now they have three or four every year and aside from Black Widow and Wakanda Forever they're goofy, and none of them really make you hungry for the next installment.

I've seen every movie in Phase One, Two, and Three. I've only seen one movie of the past eight.

They've obviously over-saturated the market when it comes to superhero movies. The only way Im seeing one is if the combination of actors involved look interesting to me. Even the new Guardians movie isnt exciting me too much because I've played through two lengthy GOTG video games that might be going over similar themes to that movie.

Brie Larson isnt going to get me to see a movie. Unless they find a way to play to her strengths. The recent Ant-man is an example of something I haven't cared about because I dont think they were playing to Paul Rudd's strengths. The first two Ant-Man movies were a lot of fun. The third one looks like garbage. If Captain Marvel 2 ends up any good I suspect it'll be because of Iman Vellani.

I just don't think they have built the next phase up to what they want to build it up to...

I think in order to do that they need to build up the XMen side of things along with the Fantastic Four. They lost their two biggest characters with Captain America and Iron Man...they need to fill that void

I feel for DC. Now that they might have a plan and a vision at last, Marvel destroyed the superhero movie market.
