I don't get the Chryst hype. Wisconsin has a system run by Barry, ever coach wins 10 games there. They don't do much prior or after their stops in Madison.

I think the Big 12 matches up well with any conference. Patterson, Gundy, and Snyder are a top 3 that most conferences can't touch. Campbell at ISU, has a great trajectory. If Stoops was still at OU, I don't think it would even be an argument.
Snyder is one of the all time greats but has one foot out of the game now so that ship is slowly sailing. Patternson is a great coach but he has what one shared title and you can put an * by that one because Baylor won the head to head. Gundy has one Big 12 title in 13 years and hasn’t sniffed the playoff or a title game. His record against OU is 2-11.

Not exactly an ivory hat rack for hanging your dreams.

Brohm can't be that high.

Ferentz has to be above him. I'd Flip Allen, Ash and Fleck. Lovie shouldn't even get to be on the list. I'd Flip Franklin and Chryst too. But it doesn't really matter.

Dantonio, should be 2. He has a long track record and he did it at MSU. Other may pass him over the next 3-5, but he should be 2 right now

Maybe I am over playing the Wisconsin culture. I just didn't see that greatness coming through at Pitt
Man, I have no idea what the problem is at Pitt. They should be a really great program but for whatever reason, no coach can get them there. Great football city, solid college, tons of talent all around.

Patterson is a dick, but what he is doing at TCU is amazing.
Gundy is the same situation. He is killing it at OSU. Former Coaches that achieved less at OSU have left there and won titles.

I have respect for coaches that stay in places that really don't have the resources to compete for national championships. Winning at Bama, USC, ETC is a lot easier than places like OSU, OSU, and TCU

The program is cursed.

Pitt does have wins over Clemson and Miami. It seems like they can get up for big games but can’t do it consistently.

They've won 10 games once since 1981. That's absolutely absurd given everything that program has going for it.

I think Narduzzi has them on the way up. The recruiting has improved. Their major problem lately has been keeping coaches.

Malzahn has achieved more than Gundy in 5 years than Gundy has in 13 against superior competition. Now his down years have been much lower but he has the same number of wins against his biggest rival, a conference championship (plus played for another) and made it to the national championship game.

Malzahn isn’t anything that special and neither is Gundy.

Patterson is weird dude that probably wouldn’t fit in anywhere else. He is like a crazy wildcard that you may or may not draw at any point.

Pitts kind of an odd program.. almost invisible. If I had to sit here an list ACC teams, I'd probably forget they were even in the conf. Not that it's a bad school.. just not a lot of press or exposure?

Narduzzi will be coming to Michigan State in the next 2-4 years.

Hell, I remember Boston College more than Pitt. Have no idea why but I do. Same with Wake Forest.

You might be right, but damn, they just seem to be in a rut.

Which is crazy, because Pittsburgh is as big a football city as there is in the country. It's not a bad city to live in, either, and it has a lot to offer. They should be picking off kids in Ohio/Pennsylvania a lot better.

What the hell is a blue chip recruit? Define?

Blue chip recruits are the 4 and 5 star high school recruits. Last year, the state of Texas alone had more than Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota and Wisconsin COMBINED.

So the excuse that the B1G has more talent available than the Big 12 is ridiculous.

Not disagreeing.. maybe they're in that weird area where they've just always been overshadowed by the nearby schools... Michigan, PSU, OSU.. yet, they're not in the same conf, so there's no rivalry in place.

10,000 fans at Heinz Field for every home game probably isn't helping their cause.

With the addition off Scott Frost that gives the Big 2 coaches with a NC.
