So with Nike's checkbook this is the best they got????
"Oregon slips back into irrelevance" should be the title

B.S.I stopped reading after you said if he takes three seasons to get things going. No effin way he lasts if he has 3 bad years. Helfrich was fired for one bad season.
This is a win now program and win now opportunity. If he doesn't get this thing going right away then he is gone.

The Ducks are a multi year rebuild project. Your defense is in worse shape than when Petersen took over the Dawgs.
You'll be lucky to be bowl eligible the next two years. 2018 you'll have a sense of if progress is being made. 2019 (year 3) will be the year we'll see what the Taggert crew was able to build.
HE BETTER NOT FUCKING RETAIN HOKE
They are playing the race angle on twitter. Saying he could be the first black HC to win a natty or some shit. I guess we know what the narrative will be now. Might as well book them to win a NC in his tenure

It was a bad hire for Oregon. Either that or they really were running into problems getting better qualified coaches to consider moving to the middle of nowhere and coaching against resurgent Washington and USC plus some other pretty good teams in the Pac 12. Guy better bring a fire hose with him; the Ducks are a dumpster fire.
O fans seem to be reacting...Umm.....

Im ok with it im not over the moon for it though. I feel like he will be Oregon's Sark. get them back up have some 8, 9 win seasons maybe contend for the conference here and there but stay right there.
He's an intersting hire. Big emphasis on offense kind of guy so that works for what Duck fans expect. I'll be interested to see what his final staff looks like. He cant really be judged by this recruit class, but he'll have to show big improvement by next years which will be a true test of can he recruit for a P5 program.Im ok with it im not over the moon for it though.
