His Dad recently revealed he felt the Cardinals were in the mix for AP (with the Colts and Cowboys). Would you trade for him? Probably have to give up our first round pick. I would do it in a heartbeat and throw in Rob Housler and Logan Thomas.

Trading for him is impossible for us because of his salary. And trading a first round pick for a 30 year old RB would be a worse move than trading for Kolb.

His salary is $12,750,000, $14,750,000, & $16,750,000 over the next 3 seasons. If he gets cut, then adding him is a possibility if he doesn't want to break the bank.

The Vikes want him back, so he won't be cut.
A trade is possible if he continues to whine about being mistreated by the team, but he'll still want big money I'm sure.

I still don't see a trade happening. AP is due massive amounts of money. He would have to agree to a new contract that would probably reduce his pay by 30-40% for the Cardinals to even think about it. ANd even then, Keim could just sit back & wait for the Vikes to cut him because there are not too many teams with $13 mil in immediate space that want him.

I tend to agree.

I have mixed feelings about it. On one side the amount of money we would need to spend on a short term solution is hard to stomach. On the other hand, how good would #28 look lined up behind Palmer?

I can't see them having the money to sign AP............I'd of been happy if they had gone after Gore.

I'd honestly prefer them to take Melvin Gordon with their first. May not be AP's level but he'd be a good compliment to what is already on the roster.

AP is worth going all in for. He still has at least 2 very good years left in him and I think adding him next to Ellington with our improved O-Line will make our offense go to the next level. AP could be our own Beast Mode… it's what separated us from Seattle last year (along with CP's injury)

As much as I like AP, committing $10+ mil a year to a RB is not a wise move. And it's not going to happen.

They'd be dedicating a lot of money to a running back that will be entering the twilight of his career soon. I'll pass.

You guys are crazy. We have a two year window with Palmer then who the hell knows what'll happen after that. Fitz is also declining. It's time to go all-in. I'd rather win a SB in the next year or two and be stuck with bad contracts for a couple years than use the money elsewhere at this point. With an improved O-Line and elite running game this team would be one of the best in the NFL.

I'm all for getting AP. Agree they need to go all-in. Palmer has maybe two years in him and that's if he even stays healthy during that time. AZ has the talent (barring decimation via injuries like last year) to win the SB; they just need a few pieces. AP would be a monster addition.

Delusional. That is the only word to describe some of you guys.

Let me know where that $10+ mil a season is going to some from. He wants $25 mil guaranteed. So we are talking about a 3 year commitment for a 30 year old RB. When I look at the cap numbers, I only see about $4-6 mil in space before factoring the $4.5 mil needed for the draft pool. We are already semi-fucked with Palmer's & Fitz's future cap hits. Do you guys want have see PP at $17 mil & CC at $16 mil per year for 5+ seasons in cap hits in order to sign AP? We are talking about about $65+ mil in cap hit for 4 players in years 2017 & beyond, two of which might not even be on the team by then.

Sure, it would be great to have AP on the team, but I just don't see it happening.

Maybe we aren't as delusional as you thought.

I'm not sure how they work out the cap space issue, but where there's a will there's a way.

Nope. You guys are still delusional. The leaks about an AP trade to the Cardinals are coming from the vikings press. I wonder why that is...
