If the Cards go after him please let it be as a free agent. They don't need to be throwing away draft picks at a player that will likely be cut.

RJ: Good point in general, but there are certain elite players the buck the trends where others don't. AP would certainly seem to be one of those guys.

He also got to spend the entire year last year avoiding bumps and bruises since he sat out (while healthy) the season.

AP isn't human, I think he'll still have at least 2 very good seasons left in him… especially after sitting out last year.

He also missed a year with the torn ACL. That's essentially two years of his and general wear and tear the average 30 year old RB has that he missed. While I would say it equates to him being 28 again I think he has more left in the tank than most RBs at 30.

I guess will find out within a week whether this was all talk or not. GM meetings begin this weekend in Phx.

He actually tore his knee up in the last game of the season, and was ready to go for the start of the following season. He never missed any time for that injury.

Like Arizona_Sting said, he isn't human. He has some good seasons left, hopefully with the Vikes, but it's looking more like a trade will be in the best interest to both parties here. Would be cool to see him and Fitz Jr. on the same team.

I just don't see a trade happening unless the Vikings decide take a day 2 pick & AP agrees to play about $7 mil APY. The money just isn't there to pay anymore than that. And even then, the Cards would still have cut a player or two afterwords to be able to sign their draft picks.

Vikes will try to get the max they can for him no doubt, and there are rumors he'll renegotiate contract if a trade is made. Most likely the latter would only be IF he's traded to a team he wants to play for.
