If this is a complete rebuild and a salary purge... Keep 'em, cut 'em, or trade 'em?

For some of these guys, cutting them would be untenable, but what about trades? Here are my questions...

A. What could we reasonably expect to get in exchange for any of these guys, are they untradeable or on your "must keep" list?

B. How about re-signing Fuller and/or Samuel or let 'em go?

C. Outside of Logan Thomas, which of these guys are release candidates, with the team eating their Cap hits?

1. Daron Payne (2024 Cap hit= $21,610,000 Dead Cap hit = $46,400,000)

2. Johnathan Allen (2024 Cap hit= $9,500,000 Dead Cap hit= #26,500,0000)

3. Terry McLaurin (2024 Cap hit= $24,100,000 Dead Cap hit = $29,300,000)

4. Kendall Fuller (2024 status UFA)

5. Charles Leno (2024 Cap hit= $15,750,000 Dead Cap hit= $8,250,000)

6. Curtis Samuel (2024 status UFA)

7. Logan Thomas (2024 Cap hit= $8,315,000 Dead Cap hit= $1,750,000)

8. Andrew Wylie (2024 Cap hit= $9,416,666 Dead Cap hit= $7,833,335)

9 Nick Gates (2024 Cap hit= $5,456,667 Dead Cap hit= $5,323,334)

... Here are the terms of their contracts.

Keep Payne....to big of a cap hit and he can play.

Allen.....if the price is right I move him. If I don't get what I like, I tell Jon he has a C on his jersey, suck it up, and start acting like a Captain

McLaurin....if a team like Kansas City calls with the 25th pick, I listen. Leaning toward bringing him back because the development of the new QB is paramount.

Fuller...Been wrestling with this all year. He can play and Forbes looks like a bust, but his age doesn't line up with where we are. Maybe on a short, short deal.

Leno.....cut him during camp to minimize the cap hit.

Samuel.....If I can't land a big WR in free agency (Higgins) I bring him back, unless the plan is to draft a Legette type WR in the draft.

Thomas...cut

Wylie......Try him at LG in camp and if it doesn't work, cut.

Gates......Probably going to bring him back and give him a chance to make the team. I think they draft a center and still have Stromberg.

Keep Payne......cuz of that ridiculous ass contract he got. Hopefully he's the last player to fleece the shit outta the Skins. Shoulda traded his only played hard in his contract year ass last year.

Keep Terry Mac.....he's a building block n considering the WR play of this year.

Keep Fuller......best cover corner on the team n from what we saw this year. Possibly the only DB who's actually fit to be a CB.

Keep Samuel if you can sign him to a reasonable deal.

Trade Allen as 7 years in DC has taken its toll on him.

Cut everyone else.

A- Allen should yield close to a 2 + 5 because that is what Leonard Williams got.

B- Let Fuller and Samuel go.

C- Jon Allen you trade.

Cut Leno, Wylie, and Gates because I don’t see them getting any picks.

Payne and TMAC you keep.

A. What could we reasonably expect to get in exchange for any of these guys, are they untradeable or on your "must keep" list? I try trading Allen for Wilson and a 4th. Otherwise, keep him in the mix. Possible trade him at deadline 2024.

B.
How about re-signing Fuller and/or Samuel or let 'em go? Let both walk. We are moving on in a new direction. Samuels production did not warrant $3/30m. Fuller past his prime.

C.
Outside of Logan Thomas, which of these guys are release candidates, with the team eating their Cap hits? Leno, Gates. Wylie to LG.

A. I wouldn't trade Payne or Allen this year, I'd do everything in my power to persuade them to give the rebuild a shot at least one more year. I wouldn't trade Mclaurin, unless it was an AFC team offering a 1st and 3rd.

B. I'd resign Fuller, and only bring back Samuel if the offensive staff had a clear vision to use him effectively. Way too many WRs to pick from in the draft.

C. Other than Leno and Thomas I'm keeping my lineman for depth and seeing if a new scheme makes them more effective.

Gotta have some vets to help the pups

The attitude and lack of play Allen has shown over the last six weeks makes me want him gone if I can get decent picks.

Shitty vets don’t help the pups.

I can understand how frustrated Allen might be about this bullshit foe the last nine years or so, but I dont think he played well this year despite it. Neither did Payne.

I certainly wouldnt restructure Allen’s deal, which was a good one when he signed it.

If he wants out, I would absolutely trade him to the highest bidder.

If anybody wants out I’d trade them to the highest bidder, and frankly the only one that would sting a little is Scary Terry: the closest thing we have to an offensive force on this team.

I'm at a loss as to why so many want Fuller gone. Peeps been trying to get rid of him since he came back. Cut some of those Riverboat stiffs.
Depends on Fuller’s cost

Sure, that's understandable, but I've seen rationales such as he's too old or past his prime. He's fuckin 28 years old. Or they should move Fuller inside or to safety as if the Skins are just swimming in CBs who can actually play CB. At least we'll never have to hear that BSJ is the Skins best CB nonsense again.

Because, for his occasional play he makes, he is otherwise past his prime with varying results. Too old to resign to a large deal. My guess is we can find younger talent, higher ceiling for lower cost during this rebuild.

He came up with more turnovers than any other player on the Skins. He also finished as the 4th ranked CB in football according to PFF n had an overall grade of 83.1. Disregard all that for a second n using strictly the eye test. He was w/o question the best CB on the Skins.

Younger talent such as BSJ who lead the team in penalties cuz he can't keep his hands to himself and seems unable to turn his head n look for the ball He's also a shitty tackler. Or Forbes. Lead the team in getting smoked n is a shittier tackler than BSJ.

He's still the best CB on the team and the Skins will have some cash to do some things with. I don't want them to break the bank on Fuller.
