Game Thread: 9ers vs Rams

Starting this thread a bit early to ask a question. I haven't really done any research due to me being lazy but does anyone know of the scenario where we lose this game and get higher than 5th is the draft?

If Dallas and San Diego win this Sunday, Niners can move up to pick #3 providing they lose against the Rams. If for some reason Niners win and the Jaguars, Ravens, and Dolphins all lose, Niners will drop down to pick #8. I like the first scenario a lot better. I know players are playing for jobs next year, but it would behoove the Niners to not start making halftime adjustments and try to win the game. Let's start the new year right by at least having a top 5 pick. One thing that Tomsula has done exceptionally well is that he has positioned the Niners to possibly getting a top 5 pick.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have the 49ers winning this one.

After a disastrous season, this is their last chance to showcase their abilities. In a way, this is the Super Bowl for some of our players. They either show up today, or they end up working at Home Depot next season. I have us winning this one.

we can climb higher but not to #1. i read this a few days ago, but don't ask me to find it again.

for me, i want to win and more so against the Rams. Never been one to "want to lose" in any circumstance.

most seasons, fans on this board always want to lose for a higher draft pick.

The game is not televised in the Central Valley today. First time I can recall this happening. Been listening to a little bit on the radio. Tim Ryan complaining about all the checkdowns so I guess that is continuing. Heard little else. Gotta lose this one though for the 5th pick

Yeah, this many check downs is dissappointing. After this many starts, i expected Gabbert would be able to throw farther.
