The game against the White Sox was awful, as the Giants committed six errors.

Since Cal mentioned the Giants were undefeated in ST, they have now lost five in a row. Thanks, Colin!

Some good performances today hitting-wise.

The other game was fairly clean, the only error was a tough call.

Speaking of Colin, hope all is well!

Giants lost their 7th in a row today to KC at Surprise.

Good pitching, no hitting. (Duh!)

Blackburn started and gave up not runs and 3 K's in 2 innings.

Crick pitched 1.2 innings without a walk! (20 of 30 pitches for strikes)

Sitton pitched 1.2 innings giving up two runs on a homer, after getting out of Crick's jam in the 4th.

Hernandez, Okert and Ramirez pitched scoreless innings apiece.

8th in a row now...good thing wins and losses don't matter.

Bum threw 3 innings and looked pretty good (4 Ks, one ER).
Melancon looked shaky but got out of his inning (2 BB, one hit, left them loaded)
Gearrin, Gomez and Suarez got slapped around to blow the 3-1 lead.

Span, Herk, Stamos 0-9. Mac jerked a bomb.

Giants break 8-game losing streak. (Notice Cal has been missing since his inglorious "prediction" of an undefeated Spring Training! :D)

Cain pitched poorly, but only gave up two runs in 3.1 innings (Blach gave up an inherited run)

Blach, Slania, Law and Strickland pitched 5.2 scoreless innings.

Bats were pretty silent today, except for Hill (1-3, double) and Blanks (3-3, triple)

Hey, I didn't predict an undefeated ST...

I predicted an undefeated ST AND a 162-0 season.

Get it right.

If Baggarly's article is telling, looks like Cain may be the guy to fill the 5th starter's spot and the veterans won't be given up on at this point of spring training. Giants' Bruce Bochy drops big hint in No. 5 starter battle

I don't see how they realistically can do anything but this. Cain gets a shot, for 2 months, in his last year, to see if he has anything in the tank. If he's not up to it, the team gave him every chance. He will respect it. He will be done.

But you gotta give him this last shot.

Agreed. Just seemed funny that some circles were talking about there being an actual competition. I bought into that as well.

I heard an interview with Baggs on KNBR...he didn't think they'd give Cainer 2 months...more like 6 starts.

Hwangster with his second ST bomb. He's going to make that decision at 3b a tough one...

Also, Team Israel is 2-0 and advances to the second round. 200-1 shot given little chance of winning even a game is now in the second round. A bunch of American Jews on the team, nobody currently in MLB. Maybe I shoulda applied? I can still rush my FB up there at 55.

Just saw that Ray Black was optioned to Richmond and Carlos Alvarado, Andrew Suarez, C.J. Hinojosa and Juniel Querecuto were all reassigned to minor league camp. None really had a shot anyway (except maybe Black). More interesting is the rumblings about Kyle Crick is putting himself into the competition for the bullpen.

Can't have a bullpen guy who can't throw strikes consistently.

That is what I find so humorous about Crick getting a shot and Black being sent down. Both stunk at AA last year, Black turns in one good outing and is sent back to AA while Crick throws three good to decent outings and gets to stick around.

Apparently, Crick figured something out. That is why there is a lot of buzz surounding him this spring.

I know! Very exciting times. Guys who have a shot that I thought had very little chance of making it before ST:

1. Hwang
2. Marrero
3. Hill
4. Crick
5. JPark

Does Marrero have a shot? I have not heard his name since the first game. And I understand you don't think Parker has a shot, I believe you are in the minority on the opinion. He has the inside track, and needs to be grossly outplayed by multiple players to not make it.
