Jarrett Parker gets the start against a lefty (Kazmir), smacks a rocket double to the pull side on a 2-2 count. There was also a runner in scoring position

Spring Training stats don't have much weight but it's situations like that that go a long way, especially for guys like Parker.

Conversely, Aaron Hill popped up with a runner on 3rd with 1 out. AB's like that would go a long way working against a player fighting for a job.... but I anticipate it won't effect Hill in Bochy's eyes in the slightest.

Jarrett just went yard too (against a righty) with 2 on. It was crushed. He wants that job.

he's out of options right, either make the team or be cut loose? i love his aggression and really hope he can bring it to at&t
Either make the team or he needs to clear waivers.

No chance he clears waivers, so yes. You are right.

Yes. And I don't think the Giants want to lose his dynamic talent because, as Cal said, he won't clear waivers. Definitely gives him the big edge on Mac (who has 2 option years).

He's proven that he can at the very least be a power guy off the bench, so if Mac or someone else wins the job, I think Parker stays around anyway as a 5th OFer.

Once again, the Giants are on TV, but it's only for viewers in SoCal, or people with DirecTV. It's also going to be on MLB Network, but not until 7:30. Giants playing at the Angels.

If you can, you should really tune into this one, Tyler Beede is getting the start.

Another top pitching prospect, Andrew Suarez, follows Beede after he pitched 2 solid innings.

Trevor Brown is behind the plate, which makes a lot of sense as he is trying to build rapport with these young pitchers that he's going to catch in AAA.

Cannot be easy for someone like Brown to keep his head straight after playing a full year in the big leagues having the club sign someone else that essentially guarantees a trip back to the minors. Hope he does well.

Brown looked good today, threw out 3 baserunners, and had a hit (or 2? I don't remember).

I'm not totally opposed to him getting more PT in the minors as he could still stand to improve both with the craft of catching and with the bat.
