we are 1 year away. this year is about learning. we should of won this game but we made way too many mistakes. shot ourseleves. i like the fight and liked that our D played an hell of a game except on the bomb play in the 1st half and the 1 drive in the 2nd when we were down 3.

i hope we can finish 10-2. Golson still has some learning to do. he killed us.

Cubs winning it all next year.

It was on back to the future, and that means it's more true than if it was on the internet.

Just looked at our schedule for next year and things are looking up.

Not many tough games away from Notre Dame as we had this year.

UND.COM - University of Notre Dame Official Athletic Site - Football

This program lacks a killer instinct. They have for a long time. No matter who we get back, and on paper, we should have an advantage returning everyone on defense and most of the offense, they lack the killer drive to put teams away. Therefore I can't see them being favored to run the table. They need a smarter QB. Golson is a gifted athelete but he makes really dumb in game decisions.

They coined the phrase "wait till next year."

How was this a dumb decision? Was he supposed to know that the ball would be tipped at the LOS?

It was a good read as the quick slant was there

I agree. Had the lineman not tipped it, it probably would've been completed. Not a great example of "dumb decision".

Golson didn't protect the ball when scrambling. Numerous tips at the line of scrimmage were partially the linemen not finishing their blocks. Some of the sacks were blitz pickups missed by Folston. There were many breakdowns including coaching and playcalling during the game. I do get frustrated with Kelly's lack of trust in the running game and always forcing it all or nothing on Golson. I can honestly say this team has performed much like I thought. It all comes down to how the coaches deal with all the mistakes and blown assignment and mental errors.

He is relying to much on his arm and not his brain. He has to get better the next games and work hard this offseason. if there was any doubt of him going to the NFL..........no way he does

I would be shocked if Golson had any type of NFL career.

Seriously, the "tipped" passes at the line are an ongoing problem. When he was throwing away from the pressure, the ends were dropping into passing lanes to do exactly that. Perhaps it's on Kelly, but there was no semblance of a hot route. We basically played right into that tipped pass. The only one I am willing to give him a pass on was Robinsons. He hit him in the hands and Robinson basically tipped it up to the defender. He holds the ball too damn long. On one play there was no one open, he ran around for about 8 seconds. He could have given the D good field position, instead he cost them about 20 yards. His second half comeback should be commendable, but there were way too many mistakes to overcome.
