Nice game by Haren and the entire team. It's great to see the Dodgers winning the close ones. Two no hitters and a one hitter in a short span. The one infield hit in this game was nearly an out too.
Great game last night. That's the kind of game the Dodgers need to win if they're going to be a championship team. The defense has been spectacular lately, and the new Beckett is impressive.
Dee Gordon shines. 3 for 4, 2 triples, 3 RBIs, and a SB. He's struggled a little lately (like all players do from time to time) but overall he's had an amazing first 1/3 of the season. Dee is such a nice kid that I really want him to continue to succeed.
Mattingly says there's no chemistry; the team isn't pulling together. But ultimately that has to fall on him. Don's a nice guy and I like him on a personal level, but he seems incapable of inspiring his players and pushing them to play to their potential. I think this bunch of guys needs a hard...
Nice game tonight. It's good to see some offense. I wonder what they will do at 3B with Uribe injured again.
Too bad Guerrero will be out a few weeks with a piece of his ear missing. Think Olivo will be sent packing?
I agree Ram. This forum is dying on the vine. Most of the posts lately seem to be for the purpose of running the Dodgers down. Where are the real fans and the enthusiasm? Makes it hard to keep up the interest. I watch the games every night on my computer, but this forum....not so much.
Lasportzphan, if you truly worry about baseball, then I'd say you are blessed with having few real problems in your life. It's a game, man. If it causes you to worry, you'd be far better off finding something else to do with life.
The Dodgers have played 22 games. Eight have been against Arizona. That's not a majority.
The Dodgers lead their division. They are off to a much better start than last year, when they won the division running away. You can use numbers to make just about any point you wish to make. Consider...
If there is an embarrassment on this team, it is League. How many games are the Dodgers willing to lose before they do something with him?
On another topic, has anyone noticed that the in-game strategy has improved this year with Wallach as bench coach? So far there haven't been nearly as many...
There seem to have been a lot of pitching injuries throughout MLB this spring, but I do believe the shortened ST was not a good thing. In addition to Kershaw and Wilson, I think it is partly to blame for the poor hitting from the middle of the lineup. The players, especially the older ones, just...
Well, I just saw another source that says after the 6th inning the umpires or the managers can initiate a review, so who knows. Sure is a lot of confusion about this, and as Silas said, we'll eventually find out.
According to this article, managers have the right to challenge a call during the first six innings. During the last three innings, the umpires decide if a play should be reviewed. I don't like it, but that's what it says.
Well spring baseball is off to an interesting start to say the least. The Dodgers' 200 million dollar man is pitching like a scrub, Brian Wilson is throwing knuckleballs, and Dee Gordon is smacking home runs and triples at a steady clip. Greinke makes just about everyone mad with his Aussie...
Some pretty lame comments above. Koufax is the greatest pitcher of all time, and Ethier is a very good player who I'm sure had no intention of hurting anyone. It's called an accident.
I'm not too unhappy about this. That was a lot of money, and as you said, Silas, there are other important needs for that money. I'm not too keen on Aroyo or giving up prospects for Price. I think the Dodgers may be better off leaning on Beckett and, when ready, Billingsley. It may also be time...
Ditto what I said last July. He's a great player, but he can't help the team if he's dead or in prison for manslaughter. I have a 23 year old, and he doesn't drive 110 mph. Youth and immaturity are no longer viable excuses. Neither is coming from a foreign land and not knowing how to behave in...
Silas, what do you make of the contract talk surrounding Kershaw? The sports writers would like to portray it as a feud between Kersh and the owners. Apparently he did turn down a $300 million lifetime contract, whatever lifetime means. I'm not sure if he felt the money wasn't enough, or if...
I didn't say I'd rather. I said maybe they will.
If that's how you feel then we'd probably all benefit by having you post exclusively on those other sites. You obviously enjoy playing the role of villain. Now you're getting awfully close to assuming the role of idiot too.
